Significance of Holi festival-festival of colors as flashed on the f.b. on March 20,2011

Bishwa Nath Singh

The Holi- a festival of color brings a new resolution in our life. It has its legacies. The message of God in our life is not just a call to a new life, it's a call to a new way of living and everyone has been called to live that new way starting right now.

This is really what our spiritual ancestors called holiness preaching. It is also called as holiness teaching. The message of holiness is that God has done everything God ever needed to do to set us and keep us free from committing any sin.Can we own our God as Prahalad had done in the ancient age? Can we recognize the God as Prahlad had done everything God has done everything God needs to do to give us the way of live to live in and God has cautioned us not to commit any sin. That's holiness preaching done by our great saga which are filled in with the truth. Let us transform our lives in such a way that we live to shower our love to God and His children at and around with sense of pride and sacrifice.. It's not just a call to a new life, it's a call to a new way of living that begins with the commencement of a new calendar as per our belief .Let us forget our past and live in future and spend our time in the service of mankind as whole knowing well that the service of mankind is service to God!

Dyna Linda Wenceslao Guinto :

It's time to think over significance of this holy festival and worship God to give us wisdom and strength to win over all who were against us by our descent behavior and spread message of ‘Global Peace and Universal Brotherhood” amongst al...l and keep mentally alert to play Holi with our nearest and dearest ones by sprinkling color water on them and getting them drenched and later on enjoy good dishes prepared by them in their houses as soon as morning hours conclude and seek blessings of our elders. In the evening, we keep on moving from place to place to greet all who are known to us by smearing Gulal -red powder made out of dried flowers on their face whereas we offer Gulal to the lotus feet of elders and seek their blessings and enjoy their good hospitality and this chain continues till late in the night.Let us enjoy this great festival with great festivity with malice to none and resolve to be good and do well to others in our life for cause of humanity!

The one is great who forgives and pardons others for latter's fault who later could be great too if they learn from their mistakes and resolve not to repeat them in future and follow truthfully in their life.

It has been reported by Press media of Japan that exhausted engineers have attached a power cable to the outside of Japan's tsunami-crippled nuclear plant on Saturday the 19th of March 2011 in a desperate attempt to get water pumps going on performing their job well that would cool down overheated fuel rods and prevent the deadly spread of radiation.

Bishwa Nath Singh One will recollect that Japan’s past nuclear nightmare were witnessed when the U.S. atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Japan has been the only country to have been hit by an atomic bomb so far witnessing its side e...ffects. The cabling as reported was under way before an attempt to restart water pumps needed to cool overheated nuclear fuel rods at the six-reactor Fukushima plant in north-eastern Japan situated two hundred forty kms north of Tokyo. Japanese officials have been expecting to have power from outside drawn to No. 2 reactor first and then they are in mind to test the pump and systems to see if they can be started. After working inside a twenty kms evacuation zone at Fukushima, over three hundred engineers got a second diesel generator attached to No. 6 working just after early the morning., as revealed by the nuclear safety agency . They then used that power to restart cooling pumps on No. 5. Reactor No. 6 is drawing power from a second diesel generator. The Japanese Govt. is trying its best to see that Japan is saved further from the castrophy on account of radiation. Let us hope and pray to Lord Buddha for all the best to the People of Japan as whole who have already suffered much due to earth quake & tsunami that brought adverse effect on Japan on March 11, 2011 after the world war-two.!

Bishwa Nath Singh:

This is the festival which celebrated during the festival time Holi. Holi is a colorful festival of India and has great importance for Hindus in particular in the Hindu Country of the world. Holika Dahan is a fire burning occasion which is a sign of the great love of lord Krishna and Radha. People organize a program of Holika Dahan to lighted fire on a place. They come on the place by bringing waste furniture, cloths and other wooden logs to burn the fire. They celebrate the day as a happiest moment of life because it is the day when God had descended on this holy earth from his heavenly abode to save His ardent disciple Prahalad and to destroy Hirankashyapu & His sister Holika both of the demons to eliminate their dreadful activities. Holika Dahan is a lighting of bonfire takes place during Holi. The legend goes that the Demon king Hiranyakashipu was able to suppress all this subjects and make them his devotees. All his citizens prayed to Hiranyakashipu and not to Vishnu. But Prahalad, the little son of Hiranyakashipu, prayed to Lord Vishnu. He tried all means to stop Prahalad from worshipping Vishnu but he failed.Hiranyakashipu then decided to kill his son. But each attempt to kill Prahalad was thwarted by Vishnu. Finally, the demon king took the help of his sister Holika. Fire could do nothing to her as she was immune to fire. So, she took young Prahalad and sat in a huge bowl of fire. But this time young Prahalad came out with any damage and Holika was burnt to death. The little boy Prahalad was able to overcome evil in the form of Holika through his unwavering devotion to Lord Vishnu. Usually, it is observed a day prior to Holi festival. Holika Dahan will be celebrated during this year only this evening ‘.e on Saturday of March 19,2011. The similar ritual in South India is known as Kamadahanam. Holika dahan or Holikotsav or Choti Holi signifies the victory of good over evil. It is mentioned in many Puranas and other Sacred holy epics. In Narada Purana, Holika Dahan is mentioned as the victory of Prahlada over his aunt demon Holika. As per Bhavishya Purana, a demon called Dhundhi was killed by a group of children whom he had troubled a lot. Hence, the festival of Holi is very much associated with children too.The best time to perform Holika Dahan and to celebrate Holikotsav is after Pradosh on March 19,2011 that will be around 10:15P.M as per Rishikesh Panchang.Holika Dahan, or burning of demon Holika, is an important event during Holi festival. On the night before Holi, people light fire with old things, sticks, branches and leaves. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The bonfire can also be interpreted as a cleansing ceremony to assure in Holi festival.
