‎''गांधी जब घायल होता है,
भारत की आत्मा जगती है''
--Aravind Pandey

See More

Our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Mother Teresa who was born on August 27,1910 in Skopje,Macedonia whose original name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu and died on on September 5, 1997, just 9 days after her 87th birthday. She was given t...he honour of a state funeral by the Government of India and her body was buried in the Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity. Her tomb quickly became a place of pilgrimage and prayer for people of all faiths, rich and poor alike. Mother Teresa left a testament of unshakable faith, invincible hope and extraordinary charity. Her response to Jesus’ plea, “Come be My light,” made her a Missionary of Charity, a “mother to the poor,” a symbol of compassion to the world, and a living witness to the thirsting love of God. Following Mother Teresa's death, the Holy See began the process of beatification, the second step towards possible canonization, or sainthoot. She often use to tell to the world that by blood, she is Albanian and by citizenship, an Indian besides By faith, she happened to be a Catholic nun. As to her calling, she belonged to the world. As to her heart, she belonged entirely to the Heart of Jesus. Though, she was small of stature but rocklike in faith lead to disaster.

Why to weep for one who is liar and deceiver? If at all, one is required to weep and cry, let him/her do so by closing eyes in front of the deity of our creator and savior who is our Almighty God!

The significance of Prayer as envisaged by me as flashed on the f.b. on June 6,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh
Prayer is very important and vital belief of ours as how best we communicate with God and how God sometimes communicates with us.Prayer can also help us in attaining God's guidance in the most difficult phases of our life. This is when we are not sure of which direction our lives should take?

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Sometimes in our lives we lose faith in God and begin to assume that God doesn't listen to our prayers. We might feel that no matter how many prayers we say, we are not able to get through to him or we might feel that God does not care abou...t us and therefore he does not answer our prayers. We might also ask ourselves the question what is the right way to pray to God. One thing is for sure that we must always approach God with total reverence in our hearts for him.A prayer has four simple steps: Address God, Thank Him, Ask Him, and Close in the Name of the Almighty God. Prayer can be said in one's mind or ooze out loudly. I personally find that praying out loudly makes it easier for one to focus his/her thoughts but I prefer to pray in my mind to God who is our creator and savior.I reproduce what I pray silently in my mind to God and urge all of you to join in reciting: “Dear Lord .I kneel before you. And offer this rayer. Let everything within me Say God is Love! Let every breath that I take in Breathe out God is Love! Let my eyes See In everything God is Love!!!Let my ears Hear in every conversation God is Love!!!!Let all I think, Say, and Do, Show God is Love”!!!!!

A homage to my Rev. Guru Paramhansha Satyananda Saraswati by B.N.Singh as flashed on the f.b. on June 6,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh
As I happened to be one amongst those few disciples of Swami Satyananda Saraswati who enjoyed learning at his feet while he use to stay in Shiva- Bhawan at Bhagalpur when I was just a college freshener. Ma Yogshakti used to be with him those days. His eternal love had brought admiration for him in my heart and remained close to him for many years when he wanted to send me abroad for yogic mission that I had refused politely perhaps it was not in my destiny.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Swami Satyanand Saraswati is widely remembered as the foremost authority and inspirer of the modern yogic and tantric renaissance who was born on the 24th of December 1923 in Almora town of Uttar Pradesh. of India. At the tender age of six, Swami Ji started having spontaneous psychic and spiritual experiences. During such events, he used to become completely unaware of his body for quite a long time. By the time he reached fifteen years of age, Swami Ji started practicing Kundalini Yoga. In another two years, he began asking complex questions like as what is the difference between perception and experience. At nineteen years, he decided to find a Guru who would guide him towards the highest state of consciousness and left his house in this pursuit. It was in the year 1943 that he met Yoga Master Swami Sivananda Saraswati in Rishikesh city of Uttar Pradesh and his search came to an end. He stayed with the Guru for a period of three years. Thereafter, he was initiated by Paramhamsa Lord Sivananda Saraswati into the Dashnami order, as a Poorna as well as a Paramahamsa Sanyasi. He was then given the name of 'Swami Satyananda Saraswati'. Paramahamsa Satyananda completed his initial sanyas training of twelve years in the year 1956. This was followed by his initiation into Kriya Yoga, again by Swami Sivananda. Thereafter, he began to practice Parivrajaka (Mendicant) stage of sanyasa. During this period, Swami Satyananda Saraswati traveled all over the Indian subcontinent. This travel helped him in meeting numerous saints of that time as well as knowing the needs of the society. Swamiji spent years in seclusion, practicing and perfecting his Yoga Sadhana. Swami Satyananda Saraswati went on his first World Tour in 1968, under the guidance of his Guru. This was followed by several international and national tours, to promote the teaching of yoga. In July 1963, after Swami Sivananda Saraswati passed away, Swami Satyananda established the headquarters of his mission in Munger city of Bihar. In the subsequent years, he set up the Bihar School of Yoga, International Yoga Fellowship Movement, Sivananda Math and the Yoga Research Foundation. In 1973, Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati was recognized as an Adept (God realized Yogi). The International Yoga Convention was held to commemorate the Sanyasa Golden Jubilee renunciation of Swami Sivananda. It was here that the renowned saints and sages of India accepted him as one of the principal experts in the filed of esoteric knowledge as well as the leading proponent of Yoga. He lectured and taught globally for the next twenty years and authored a number of books which remain popular to this day.In the years that he devoted to Yoga teaching, Swami Satyananda Saraswati mastered over eighty masterful Yoga texts. He renounced teaching, in 1988, to take up the lifestyle of a Paramahamsa. After settling in the small village of Rikhia, he has been leading a life of meditative seclusion. Since then, he was involved in the practice of the severest of the Vedic Sadhanas, such as the Panch Agni Sadhana. He lived in seclusion as a Paramahamsa Sannyasin. He use to meet people once in a year, for few weeks, to share his radiance of truth with them. He died at his ashram in Rikhiain Jharkand State of India on the 5th of December 2009.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to His lotus feet and seek His bliss to give us wisdom not to drift away from humanity and devote our time for doing well to others!

It‘s easy for children to laugh about anything whereas for adults, it’s so much harder to be carefree and laugh, with all of our worries and concerns. One must take a minute to laugh at his/her current troubles, because they will soon come to an end. It’s better to pray for God’s perspective who is in heaven who has a great plan for all of us and is not at all worried about our current or future enemies He is bound to defeat them, and in the meantime, one can laugh off whatever worries that may come on our way.

A write-up on Non-violence by me and flashed on the f.b. on June 5,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh

What is non-violence?It's a burning topic that requires very careful study.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Photo of Mahatma Gandhi)

Bishwa Nath Singh:

The doctrine of non-violence has been universally accepted as a basic principle of all religions. One will agree that it is a fundamental part of the Jain teachings and is based on love and kindness for all forms of life. It has been pointe...d out in Jain scriptures that even the thought of evil is as bad as the action resulting in injury. It takes non-violence to its highest form in thoughts, words and deeds. According to Jainism the killing, which is done through the careless activity of thought, speech and body, is violence. Non- violence is disciplined behavior towards every living being. Absence of violence of any sort towards all beings at all times is known as non-violence being called as Yogasutra. Lord Gautam Buddha has been called as the Lord of Compassion. The God of Hindus is called Dayalu, Kripalu. "Thou shalt not kill" is one of the ten commandments in the Holy Bible. The recent terrorist attacks by Naxalites or Maoists, whatever we choose to call , are of the intensity which have disturbed the whole country. In recent past, the brutality with which Jihadis in Pakistan are killing are highly disturbing. The attack on May 28,2011on Ahmedi Mosques in Lahore killing seventy persons who were praying inside the two mosques shook the conscience of humanity. India had honor to have an apostle of non-violence in the person of Mahatma Gandhi in the last century who had liberated India from clutches of British colonialism through non-violent means as a result India got independence on August 15,1947. Many people have started raising question in the face of such terrorist attacks on innocent civilians as to the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence in our era. The question arises whether Mahatma Gandhi ‘s doctrine have become irrelevant. It is for Gandhian philosophers to answer these questions. Are those who proclaim themselves to be Gandhians, take Gandhi and his philosophy seriously or Gandhism has also become a sort of religion with certain rituals with certain ashrams and properties thrown in? Where are active Gandhians? Mahatma Gandhi was not mere philosopher of non-violence but an active practitioner who made it a way of life. Even Sabarmati Ashram is devoid of such Gandhians in true sense. There was a news flashed during the year 2002 that those who were in charge of Sabarmati Ashram did not allow a peace meeting to be held on their premises by peace activists like Medha Patkar and others fearing state government may stop their grant. How such Gandhians who care for state grant can ever practice ideals of Gandhian philosophy based on the concept of human behavior purged of all vested interests. Let us first be very clear of Gandhian philosophy of non-violence.! Mahatma Gandhi always spoke of Satyagraha and Ahimsa i.e. insistence on truth and non-violence. Both concepts are integral part of each other. No non-violence is possible without truth and no truth is possible without non-violence either. Does one recollect that often our great saga used to say in the past that God is truth but Mahatma Gandhi had reversed this concept and said Truth is God. The truth and non-violence are integral to each other is because truth has to be non-coercive and based on deeper conviction. An element of coercion would contaminate truth. Violence, on the other hand, is highest degree of coercion and is used to make people believe what they do not want to believe and accept what they do not want to accept. Thus violence and truth are totally opposed to each other. Non-violence, on the other hand, guarantees freedom of conscience and people are free to base their behavior on their deeper conviction. Self interests would also contaminate truth and lead to unauthentic behavior and hence violence. Thus a non-violent behavior should have following attributes: as It must be based on genuine conviction; besides being truthful and freedom of conscience Any behavior lacking these attributes is likely to lead to violence. It is also important to understand that by violence we should not only mean physical violence. Violence can be subdivided into three categories: (1) physical violence leading to injury or death; (2) violence by words and (3) violence of ethical norms and fundamental values. Physical violence could be either individual or of nations and communities; similarly violence by words also can imply individual or group or entire nation and of course violation of norms could be cultural norms of a civilization group or those of an individual. Mahatma Gandhi use to tell that non-violence is not a cover for cowardice, but it is the supreme virtue of the brave. Exercise of non-violence requires far greater bravery than that of swordsmanship. Cowardice is wholly inconsistent with non-violence. Translation from swordsmanship to non-violence is possible and, at times, even an easy stage. Non-violence, therefore, presupposes ability to strike. It is a conscious deliberate restraint put upon one's desire for vengeance. But vengeance is any day superior to passive, effeminate and helpless submission. Forgiveness is higher still. Vengeance too is weakness. The desire for vengeance comes out of fear of harm, imaginary or real. A dog barks and bites when he fears. A man who fears no one on earth would consider it too troublesome even to summon up anger against one who is vainly trying to injure him. The sun does not wreak vengeance upon little children who throw dust at him. They only harm themselves in the act.Through the successful efforts of Mahatma Gandhi in making non-violence in word, thought, and deed, the basis of all struggles for political liberty, freedom, and self government, the word non-violence has acquired a word-wide recognition. Non-violence( Ahimsä )is not to be practiced at the physical level only but at a mental one as well. In other words, mind, speech, or ‘body states. Even hurting someone’s feelings are non-violence (Ahimsa) In fact, ‘Violence is the presence of evil thoughts, feelings or attitude’. Ahimsa or non-injury, of course, implies non-killing. But, non-injury is not merely non killing. In its comprehensive meaning, Ahimsa or non-injury means entire abstinence from causing any pain or harm whatsoever to any living creature, either by thought, word, or deed. Non-injury requires a harmless mind, mouth, and hand. Ahimsa is not mere negative non-injury. It is positive, cosmic love. It is the development of a mental attitude in which hatred is replaced by love. Non-violence is true sacrifice besides forgiveness and power. Non-violence is true strength. Let us live unto expectations of Mahatma Gandhi and follow His doctrine of non-violence in our life!

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Maharana Pratap was born on May 9, 1540 in Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan. at Juni Kacheri of Pali city whereas some historians believe that he was born at Kumbhalgarh now in Rajsamand District of Rajasthan State of India..His childhood name was ...Pratap Bhattarai who was the eldest of four brothers and two sisters, His father was Maharana Udai Singh II and his mother was Rani Jeevant Kanwar. Maharana Udai Singh II ruled the kingdom of Mewar, with his capital at Chittor. Maharana Pratap was the eldest son and hence was honored with the title of Crown Prince. He was destined to be the fifty fourth ruler of Mewar, in the line of the Sisodiya Rajputs..In 1567, when Crown Prince Pratap Singh was only twentyseven years old, Chittor was surrounded by the Mughal forces of Emperor Akbar. Maharana Udai Singh II decided to leave Chittor and move his family to Gogunda, rather than capitulate to the Mughals. The young Pratap Singh wanted to stay back and fight the Mughals but the elders intervened and convinced him to leave Chittor, oblivious of the fact that this move from Chittor was going to create history for all times to come. In Gogunda, Maharana Udai Singh II and his nobles set up a temporary government of the kindom of Mewar. In 1572, the Maharana passed away, leaving the way for Crown Prince Pratap Singh to become the Maharana. However, in his later years, the late Maharana Udai Singh II had fallen under the influence of his favorite queen, Rani Bhatiyani, and had willed that her son Jagmal should ascend to the throne. As the late Maharana's body was being taken to the cremation grounds, Pratap Singh, the Crown Prince decided to accompany the dead body of the Maharana. This was a departure from tradition as the Crown Prince did not accompany the body of the departed Maharana but instead prepared to ascend the throne, such that the line of succession remained unbroken. Pratap Singh, in deference to his father's wishes, decided to let his half-brother Jagmal become the next king. However, knowing this to be disastrous for Mewar, the late Maharana's nobels, especially the Chundawat Rajputs, forced Jagmal to leave the throne to Pratap Singh. Unlike Bharat, Jagmal did not willingly give up the throne. He swore revenge and left for Ajmer, to join the armies of Akbar, where he was offered a jagir - the town of Jahazpur - in return for his help. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Pratap Singh became Maharana Pratap Singh I, 54th ruler of Mewar - founded in 568 AD by Guhil - in the line of the Sisodiya Rajputs. The year was 1572. Pratap Singh had just become the Maharana of Mewar and he had not been back in Chittor since 1567. His old fort and his home beckoned to him. The pain of his father's death, and the fact that his father had not been able to see Chittor again, troubled the young Maharana deeply. But he was not the only one troubled at this time. Akbar had control of Chittor but not the kingdom of Mewar. So long as the people of Mewar swore by their Maharana, Akbar could not realize his ambition of being the Jahanpanah of Hindustan. He had sent several emissaries to Mewar to get Maharana Pratap to agree to sign a treaty but the latter was only willing to sign a peace treaty whereby the sovereignty of Mewar would be intact. In the course of the year 1573, Akbar sent six diplomatic missions to Mewar to get Maharana Pratap to agree to the former's suzerainty but Maharana Pratap turned down each one of them. The last of these missions was headed by Raja Man Singh, the brother-in-law of Akbar himself. He persuaded all Rajputs, who refused to sup with Raja Man Singh. With the failure of efforts to negotiate a peace treaty in 1573, Akbar blockaded Mewar from the rest of the world and alienated Mewar's traditional allies, some of whom were Maharana Pratap's own kith and kin. The emperor Akbar was much offended at the insult offered to him, and the incident hastened the first of those bloody battles which have made Pratap's name immortal. Prince Salim led the war guided by Man Singh, Mahabat Khan and son of Sagarji, brother of Pratap. The scene of battle was a mountain pass, named Haldighati. Pratap with the flower of Mewar, defended the pass; and the struggle was glorious. At length when he was nearly overwhelmed, Manah, the chief of Jhala, seized the umbrella and raising it over his head, drew after him the attack of the enemy, while Pratap was forced from the field. The noble of Jhala fell with all his brave followers. Of Pratap's twenty two thousand warriors, only eight thousand left the field. Pratap was defeated and driven towards Gogunda. Unfortunately, Pratap’s favourite charger Chetak died in the battle, but not before saving the life of his master. The horse is supposed to have jumped over a mountain stream when pursued by two Mughal chiefs. Chetak died soon after he had seen his master to safety. Rana escaped to the jungles of Chavand, living with the Bhils and sometimes going without food. Left without an army, Pratap took to guerilla warfare, hitting the Imperial army and withdrawing into the forests. Years thus rolled away, each ending with a diminution of his means and a comparative increase of his misfortunes. His family was the chief cause of his anxiety; it was on the point of being captive many a time. He had beheld his sons and relatives fall around him on the battle-field without any emotion -"for this was the Rajput born", but the lamentation of his children for food unmanned him, and he asked Akbar to alleviate their miseries. Akbar showed Pratap's letter to Prithvi Raj, a brother of prince of Bikaner. This prince adored the very name of Pratap; and this news filled him with grief. He told the emperor frankly that the letter was a forgery of some foe to the fame of Pratap. He made a strong appeal to Pratap not to submit. Prithvi Raj saved Pratap and Mewar from disgrace; for this appeal was equal to 10,000 men, and it roused Pratap into action. The honour of saving Mewar also belongs to Bhama Shah, the minister of Pratap. He offered to the Rana the accumulated wealth of himself and his ancestors, quite sufficient for the maintenance of 25,000 men for twelve years. Thus the name of Bhama Shah has been preserved as the saviour of Mewar. This went on for 25 long years, and eventually the Rana was able to conquer most of Mewar. On his deathbed Pratap took an oath from his chiefs "by the name of Bappa Rawal" that they would not permit mansions to be raised till Mewar had recovered her independence. He made his successors vow that they would not live in palaces, sleep on beds nor eat off metal utensils until Chittor was recaptured. Maharana Pratap died on January 19, 1597 with the unfulfilled dream of conquering Chittor, but not until his courtiers assured him that they would not submit to the MughalsLet us join to pay our humble obeisance’s to that great patriot who is widely adored over billions of people for his heroic and celebrate his Birth Anniversary that falls on the 9th of June 2011 with gaiety and fervor and learn to remain loyal to our motherland even in adverse situations!

Is happiness is not a pleasant feeling in one’s mind?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Happiness is certainly a pleasant feeling in one’s mind. When one listens good music, he/she enjoys listening it as it brings a pleasant sensation to his/her mind but the same music when a tragedy has occurred in one’s life while his/her relative had passed away and if someone plays the same music that he/she liked the most, spontaneous reaction will be to stop it as he/she hates it as the same music fails to bring joy and happiness to him/her. Thus, happiness is something which is personal—which is totally dependent on the person concerned as happiness being subjective and not objective. The same person, place or thing that brought happiness at one time, may bring misery at another. Why does this happen? This happens because we are responsible for our happiness or sorrows, and not the external objects of the world. We think that somebody brings joy, this person brings misery, etc. All this is not true. The external persons, places, and things are only stimuli. These stimuli affect the brain and bring joy or sorrow in us, depending upon our state of mind. Thus, all our so-called loves, hates, ambitions, dislikes, successes, failures, and so on are for our own sake, created by us. When we say we love or hate others, it is for our own sake. It is a truth according to Hinduism that all that we do is for acquiring bliss for ourselves. In the Bhagavad Gita (5.21), it is said: ‘He who is unattached to the external world and its objects, and is attached to the inner Self, will attain supreme happiness, which is everlasting.’ Real happiness is the goal of all beings. All are seeking that goal only—some ignorantly, some with knowledge. The happiness one gets in his/her life in our day-to-day lives, is very elementary. It is only a shadow, and the real one is elsewhere. It is only a door, which leads us to misery and pain. This may appear pessimistic, but unfortunately it is a truth. What we call pleasure, happiness, etc in this world is only an introduction to the pain that will follow. So, if we seek happiness here, we must be ready to receive the pain the follows it.We are all in a vicious circle. There should be an end to moving about in this vicious circle. That end comes when we understand that this world is not everything. We must also understand that this world is a teacher, teaching us to get what is true and real. This world is a showroom, which gives us samples only. It says: ‘This is only a sample. Now, seek the real inside.’So the world, with all its glitter and shine, is only a showroom which stimulates sensations in our mind And we think we are happy or sad. Lord Buddha had said that this world is misery. According to the Buddha, everything is misery. Birth is misery, living is misery, death is misery, world is misery. Secondly, everything is momentary. When one attains liberation according to Buddhism, one becomes extinct. But there is no permanent entity according to Buddhism. Everything is a coming together, and everything will disintegrate. All the schools of Hinduism, on the other hand, say that life is not merely miseries The external world no doubt brings sorrow according to various schools of Hinduism, true. But according to the Vedas, the sources of Hinduism, life is bliss. The Vedas say: ‘From bliss did things come into being. In bliss do they exist, and to bliss do they return finally.’ Everything is bliss. There is a wonderful mantra in the Vedas: ‘The air is filled with sweetness of ambrosia, the oceans are filled with sweetness, the plants and trees are filled with sweetness, and everything is filled with sweetness of ambrosia. Hinduism is positive in approach to life and its various aspects. It does not say this world is miserable, etc. It says that what we are enjoying is happiness, all right, but there are higher and higher forms of happiness. Go for them. Don’t stop where you are. Go forward. Go forward. There are higher and higher aspects of happiness. Get them. According to the Vedas, there is a gradual increase in happiness as we evolve in life: worldly happiness, mental happiness, spiritual happiness. In this world, we sing, dance, drink, enjoy, eat, and do everything we can. All these joys put together can be called one type of happiness. We have sufficient experience in this world of such temporary joy to understand this truth. Even in the case of heaven, according to Hinduism, after our good karma is exhausted, we shall have to return. In fact, we shall have to lead more miserable lives here after coming back. So we must seek something still higher. Spiritual happiness is when we want to know God, or when we want to know who we are, or when we want to know the Self. When we are striving for knowing it, our happiness increases proportionately, but when we attain God, or the Atman, our happiness can be equalled to a thousand billion. Swami Vivekananda says: ‘In this little life of ours, if we can bring even a moment’s joy in another heart that alone is true religion. Everything else is moonshine. This I have learnt suffering all my life.’ Bring joy to others, and you shall attain joy because the others and we are not different. We are one and the same. To bring joy to others, we must serve them. This is one of the best ways of being in bliss. The relevant message of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi is still holds good. ‘If you want peace, do not find faults with others. On the contrary, find your own faults. Nobody is a stranger, my child; the whole world is your own.’ Dr.Albert Schweizer had said that“Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory.” and Socrates that “Happiness is unrepeated pleasure.”? But then the question arises as what is ‘pleasure’? William Lyon Phelps had very rightly said that “The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world.” But don’t we all like ‘good books’? If we enjoy something, don’t we often call it ‘good’? And what if we are unable to obtain these things? Does our ‘loving of good things’ suffice to make us happy without the things themselves? Those who live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment are all too often those who have a limited life expectancy for whatever reason or who have realized their vulnerability through a narrow escape from death. Let us believe that everything is bliss, and not sorrow!

A clarity on wisdom and understanding as envisaged by me and flashed on the f.b. on June 4,2011.

One must be very clear about wisdom and understanding in our life.Wisdom is acquired through education and experience while understanding is how one has decoded things.. Understanding is compromising while wisdom is having an open source thinking capability where some one can get.

Wisdom is our internal knowledge which helps us in our differentiation between good and bad but understanding is our compromising nature, the manner in which we deal others.Understanding is compromising, while wisdom is having an open source thinking capability where some one can get. What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom? Most people think that wisdom and knowledge is the same thing but actually they are two different sides of the same coin. It is important that we must have clarity to be aware of difference between Information and knowledge resources.. Wisdom is what we can do here whereas knowledge is gained experience and wisdom.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna who is adored for His wisdom!

BN,.You've brought up the difference between wisdom which is our internal knowledge and understanding, which is our interpretation of this wisdom. It is also right to call them two faces of the same coin, but, as you said, one must have ...the clarity tobe aware of the difference between the two. Krishna stands for wisdom and diplomacy,,,,,,,,,,he is the observer who does not get involved....just observes from a distance, dispassionately and without being involved.

It is high time for one who is living in abroad to visit India during this period to enjoy Mango Juice and fruits of different delicious varieties in plenty as whoile market spread round the country is saturated with good varieties of Mangoes.Mango fruit matures four to five months after flowering. In addition to the fruit color and softness, proper maturity can be ascertained by the snap of the stem after slight pulling. The harvesting fruit with a four inch or so stem in tact pretests leakage of milky, resinous sap. Fruit can be picked green and left to ripen at room temperature, usually a week. Harvested fruit should immediately be washed to remove any sap which will reduce the change of anthracnose. After ripening, fruit keeps at room temperature for one week, or refrigerated for two weeks. Diseases include scale and mildew which can cause early fruit drop and both are controllable with spraying. Mangoes are ready to eat if the flesh gives way slightly when you squeeze them gently. Another good way to find is to smell the stem end: If it gives off a fruity aroma, you're ready for a real treat. Because mangoes vary from green to yellow to purplish-red, colour is not an indicator of whether a mango is ripe.Let me extend my most cordial invitation to all of my friends whether living here or abroad to please visit us to enjoy Mango Juice in plenty and delicious Mango fruits from my compound!

Lord Vishnu - Preserver of the Universe is our Holy God as flashed on the f.b. on June 4,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Lord Vishnu is regarded as the holiest of holy God in Hinduism and in our Indian mythology adored far and wide spread round the globe. He is adored as the preserver of the universe.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Lord Vishnu is adored as the preserver of the universe while two other major Hindu Gods Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva, are regarded respectively, as the creator and destroyer of the universe. The dark color of the Lord Vishnu represents the p...assive and formless ether, a great quality for a pervading God. He rests on the bed of the powerful, coiled serpent, Seshanag who represents the sleeping universe. Lord Vishnu is also known as Hari, the remover. Lord Vishnu's consort is Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth It is universally believed that Lord Vishnu rests on the coil of snake known as sheshnaga. The world according to Hindu mythology and cosmogony rests on the head of Sheshnaga, and when he shakes his head we have earthquakes. Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu and seek His bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe! The four arms indicate Lord's omnipresence and omnipotence. The two front arms signify the lord's activity in the physical world and the two back arms signify His activity in the spiritual world. The right side of the body represents the creative activities of the mind and the intellect. The left side symbolizes the activities of the heart; that is, love, kindness, and compassion. A conch in the upper left hand indicates that the Lord communicates with His devotees with love and understanding. When blowing His conch, He reminds his devotes to live in this world with kindness and compassion towards all living beings. A chakra in His upper right hand conveys the idea that the Lord uses this weapon to protect His devotees from evil. The mace denotes energy and a mace in the Lord's left lower hand signifies that He sustains the manifest world by the energy that He holds in Himself. His front right hand is depicted bestowing grace on His devotees. The snake denotes the mind and the thousand heads of the snake signify innumerable desires and passions of an individual. Just as a snake destroys its victim by its venom, an uncontrolled mind destroys the world by the venom of its possessiveness. The Lord has controlled all desires, and this is symbolized by showing Him seated on the two coils of the snake. When a sincere devotee of the Lord controls his desires, the Lord fulfills the devotee's genuine desires and helps him on his path. The blue sky in the background of the Lord suggests that He pervades the entire universe. The blue color symbolizes infinity. The blue body of the Lord signifies that He has infinite attributes. He is nameless, formless, and immeasurable. The color yellow is associated with earthly existence and the yellow clothes of the Lord signify that He incarnates Himself on this earth to uphold righteousness and destroy evil and unrighteousness. A flower garland around the Lord's neck is a symbol of the devotee's adoration for the Lord. A gem decorating His neck signifies that the Lord fulfills all genuine desires of His devotees and provides for their needs. The crown is a symbol of the Lord's supreme power and authority. The two earrings signify the dual nature of creation, such as knowledge and ignorance, happiness and unhappiness, and pleasure and pain. The worship of Lord Vishnu is very popular among Hindus, especially among the followers of the Vaishnava tradition (Vaishnavism). He is the second member of the Hindu Trinity, with Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva as the other two. Lord Vishnu is also known by other names, such as Vasudeva and Narayana. The following ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu are described in Hindu mythology and are popular among Hindus. These incarnations reveal the help rendered by God during various stages of human evolution. As shown below, the first two incarnations are in the animal form, the third one is half-human and half-animal, and the fourth and the subsequent ones are all in human form. These incarnations relate to human evolution from aquatic life to human life, and are consistent with the modern theory of evolution suggested by the science: and technology. Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu and seek His bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!

Interpretation of Gayatri Mantra as flashed on the f.b. on June 3,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Chanting of mantras inspires the body to heal itself, the mind to become calm and the soul to grow strong. Chanting of mantras make room for divine energies. Mantras are vibrations - they unlock hidden centers and help to dissolve the ego; they help us build invisible tools for shaping a better life. We begin discovering resources within.

Bishwa Nath Singh :

There seems to be several variations and differences in the interpretation:
s of the Gayatri Mantra (Om bhoor bhuvah svaha,Tat Savitur varenyam,Bhargo devasya dheemahi,Dheeyo yonah prachodayat.) by various scholars. But every one agrees that it is a prayer to the Almighty. Max Muller interprets its meaning like this:Let us obtain (meditate on) the adorable splendor of Savitri (Sun God), may He arouse our minds! Whereas Maharshi Dayannand Saraswati interprets it as follows:'O God, You are the giver of life, the remover of pain & sorrow, the bestower of happiness; O Creator of the Universe, may we receive Your supreme sin-destroying light; may You guide our intellect in the right direction!' Gayatri Mantra is meant for realization of God and is regarded as representing the Supreme Lord. It is meant for spiritually advanced people. Success in chanting it enables one to enter the transcendental position of the Lord. But, in order to chant the Gayatri mantra, it is necessary for one to first acquire the qualities of the perfectly balanced person in terms of the qualities of goodness according to the laws of material nature. The Gayatri Mantra is considered to be the sonic incarnation of Brahman and is regarded as very important in Vedic civilization.Goddess Gayatri whose Picture is appended above is an incarnation of Saraswati Devi, consort of Lord Brahma, symbolizing the strength ("shakti") and quality ("dev" )of knowledge, purity and virtue. Goddess Saraswatiis held to be the patroness of the Arts, being a poet and musician, as well as skillful composer. In the form of Goddess Gayatri with the blessings of Lord Brahma, she is believed to have given the four Vedas to mankind. Goddess Gayatri is depicted seated on a lotus. She is depicted with five faces representing the pancha pranas /pancha vayus(five lives/winds): prana, apana, vyana, udana, samana, of the five principles/ elements (pancha tatwas) earth, water, air, fire, sky (prithvi, jala, vayu, teja, aakasha). She has tenhands carrying the five ayudhas: shankha; chakra, kamala, varada, abhaya, kasha, ankusha, ujjwala utensil, rudrakshi mala. Gayatri, Savitri and Saraswati are three goddesses representing the presiding deities of the famous Gayatri mantra chanted thrice a day. Gayatri is the presiding deity of the morning prayer and rules over the Rigveda and the garhapatya fire. Every grihasta (householder) was expected to keep five or three sacred fires ( Five fires: ahavaneeya, dakshagni, garhapatya, sawta, aavasadha.) in his house to perform Vedic rituals. The Gayatri Mantra has a Vedic metre of twenty four syllables. Amongst the regulated poetry, the Gayatri mantra, chanted by properly qualified persons, is the most prominent. The Gayatri mantra is mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavatam. Great sins are said to be expiated by a pious recitation of this Gayatri verse which reads as follows:Om bhoor bhuvah svaha,Tat Savitur varenyam,Bhargo devasya dheemahi,Dheeyo yonah prachodayat.Let us join to chant Gayatri Mantra with all sincerity at our command and pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Goddess Gayatri(Gayatri Mata) and seek Her bliss for well-being of all living -being of this universe!

Bishwa Nath Singh;

It is the holy and sacred Gayatri Mantra highly revered in Hinduism very well written in Sanskrit. It consists of the prefix: Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ ॐ भूर्भुवस्वः, a formula taken from the Yajurveda, and the verse 3.62.10 of the Rigveda which is an example of the Gayatri metre, whence the mantra's name. Since the other three Vedas contain material from the Rigveda, the Gayatri mantra is found in all four Vedas. The deva invoked in this mantra is Savitr, so the mantra is also called Sāvitrī. A personification of this mantra has come to be worshiped as a Goddess in her own right, Gayatri. The Gayatri Mantra is praised in several other Hindu scriptures, including Manusmṛti, Atharvaveda, and the Bhagavad Gita. The Gayatri Mantra is an important part of the sacred thread (upanayanam) ceremony for Hindus, and was traditionally chanted only by Brahmin males, generally as part of their daily rituals. In modern times, chanting of the Gayatri Mantra has become more widespread, such as at cultural celebrations, and its use has spread to include non-Brahmins and women too spread round the globe. The Hindus as whole love to chant this sacred 'Maha Mantra' to seek Godly bliss in their life.Let us join to chant this Maha Manntra to seek Godly bliss in our life and act accordingly!

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Raj Kapoor, a legendary figure of Bollywood and one of the greatest showman of Indian Cinema was born on December 14,1924 at Dhaki Munawar Shah of Peshawar of British India ( now in Pakistan) to the great stage actor Prithviraj Kapoor... and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor .He was the eldest amongst six children of his Parents. He had attended Colonel Brown Cambridge School at Dehradun of U.P.in the year 1930. At the age of eleven, he had acted for the first time in films, in the year 1935 film Inquilab. When released in 1970, it was a box office disaster. In 1971 he launched his eldest son Randhir Kapoor in Randhir's acting and directorial debut Kal Aaj Aur Kal which also starred Raj's father Prithviraj Kapoor as well as Randhir's would-be-wife Babita. He launched his second son Rishi Kapoor's career when he produced and directed Bobby (1973) which was not only a grand success but also introduced actress Dimple Kapadia, later a very popular actress, and was the first of a new generation of teen romances. Dimple wore bikinis in the film which was quite unique those days for Indian films .In the latter half of the 1970s and early 1980s he produced and directed films which focused on the female protagonists: Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978) with Zeenat Aman, Prem Rog (1982) with Padmini Kolhapure and Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) which introduced Mandakini. He acted in fewer films by the late 1970s and early 1980s and focused on producing and directing films. He starred alongside Rajesh Khanna in Naukri (1979) and played the title role alongside Sanjay Khan in Abdullah (1980).His last major film appearance was in Vakil Babu (1982) where he appeared with his younger brother Shashi Kapoor. His last acting role was a cameo appearance in a 1984 released British made-for-television film titled Kim. He had suffered from asthma in his later years; he died of complications related to asthma on June 2,1988 at the age of sixty three. At the time of his death, he was working on the movie Heena (an Indo -Pakistan based love story). The film was later completed by his sons Randhir and Rishi Kapoor, and narrated by his brother Shammi Kapoor. The movie was released in 1991 and became a huge success at the Box Office. When Raj Kapoor was being honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, where his brothers Shashi Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor were also present, the crowd was clapping around when President Venkataraman, who saw Kapoor's discomfort, came down the stage to give the award to the legend in the middle of thundering claps where he was breathing his last breath where he got collapsed and was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. The country's top cardiologists tried their best, but could not save him and finally left for heavenly abode on May 2,1988,The nation celebrates his twenty third death anniversary today when we pay our respectful homage and floral tribute to that show man who was the winner of nine Filmfare Awards, while his films Awaara (1951) and Boot Polish (1954) were nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the Government of India had honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 1971 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1987 for his contributions towards Indian cinema. He is still continue to be very popular amongst old generation of Russian and Ukrainian and his song “Mai Awara Hun” continues to be famous amidst them.

On the banks of the holy river Saryu stood the magnificent city of Ayodhya, the capital of the kingdom of Koshala. King Dasaratha, its ruler performed ceremonial sacrifice to fire God for having desirable son (putreshthi yagna). As a result..., Ram was born to Kaushalya, Bharat to Kaikeyi and Laxman and Shatrughna to Sumitra . As they grew, sacred thread ceremony was held for all the four brothers. One day Sage Maharshi Vishwamitra arrived at Ayodhya and approached the King Dasarath asking for Ram and Laxman's help in killing demons who were disturbing his meditation. Dasharatha was apparently hesitant as Ram and Laxman were of tender age at that time and were not ready for a fight against mighty demons. However Dashratha consented as sage Vashishta advised him that it would be in their best interest. They would learn numerous secret art and weaponry from Maharshi Vishwamitra. Maharshi Vishwamitra led Ram and Laxman to his hermitage On their way, Tadaka (or Tataka) had obstructed. On Maharshi Vishwamitra's command, Ram killed Tadaka at once. On reaching his hermitage (ashram), Maharshi Vishwamitra started oblation and assigned the task of protecting the place to Ram and Laxman. The heroic lads destroyed and thrashed demons like Marich, Khar-Dushan and Subahu easily. Maharshi Vishwamitra was impressed and took them under his wing and trained them to use magic weaponry. Meanwhile.Mithila King Janaka sent invitation to Maharshi Vishwamitra to adorn the swayamvar of his daughter, Sita. Maharshi Vishwamitra asked Ram and Laxman to accompany him to the beautiful capital of the Videhas, Mithila.ruled by King Janaka. On their way to Janakpur, Ram noticed a stone idol of a beautiful woman lying on ground. MaharshVishwamitra told Ram the legend behind it. She was Ahilya, wife of Sage Maharshi Gautama but turned into stone due a curse given by her husband Maharshi Gautama for her misconduct with no fault of her as she was badly deceived by a godly person who cheated her under garb of Maharshi Gautam while Maharshi Gautam had gone for his bathing into the nearby holy river..After listening its history, Sri Ram touched the stone with her feet and she was transformed soon back to her original form. On arrival at Janakpuri, Maharshi Vishwamitra was accorded rousing welcome by Raja Janak who came all the way to meet Marashi Vishwamitra who in turn introduced Ram and Laxman with their full details to Raja Janak. Later on, Mahrashi Vishwamitra . had asked Ram and Laxman to go for sight seeing and get some flowers for him. At the flower garden,Ram had glimpse of Sita and both were attracted towards each other. The day of swayamvar arrived. Maharshi Viswamitra accompanied by Ram & Laxman reached to the venue of Swaymvar where they were given due place with respect. Raja Janaka proclaimed that the man who could string the mighty bow of Lord Shiva would win his beautiful daughter, Sita's hand in marriage. Many kings tried to lift the great bow, but none could even budge it. Raja Janak was disheartened. He lamented that 'it seems that the earth is devoid of brave men. My daughter would remain unmarried.. None had been able to perform this feat. Maharshi Vishwamitra said, "My boy, Ram try that." Ram, with the blessings of the gods and his Guru Maharshi Vishwamitra, lifted the bow with no effort. As he bent down to string the bow, it broke with a sound that echoed in the three worlds, leaving him shocked at his own strength. Sita was overjoyed and garlanded Ram. But the path was not all rosy for Ram. As news of breaking of arrow spread like wildfire, A great Saga Parshuram known for his anger came to the site. When he saw broken bow he asked who did it. Ram promptly made him calm with his courteous replies. When Parshuram figured out the true identity of Ram, he was very much pleased and blessed him. Envoys were sent to Ayodhya with this good news carrying invitation and personal letter from Raja Janak to be delivered to Raja Dasarath of Ayodhya.. Raja Dashratha prepared for a grand procession and arrived in Mithila. A grand ceremony marked the marriage of Ram and Sita. With the advise of Maharshi Vashishta, Raja Janak ‘s other daughter Urimila was married to Laxman whereas Bharata and Shatrughn were given Mandavi and Shrtikirti in order being both the daughters of Raja Kushadhwaja, a younger brother of Janaka. Vishwarnitra blessed all of them heartily and went away to the Himalayas. After few days of stay at Janakpuri, Raja Dashratha departed for Ayodhya along with Maharshi Vashishta and four newly wedded couples followed by other processionals who had gone to Mithila from Ayodhya. For the people of Ayodhya, it turned out to be a festival of festivals and memorable for them. Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to their lotus feet and seek their bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!

The very night when Yudhishthira got into his usual melancholy mood in the camp of Kurukshetra war after having seen many of his trusted warriors had got killed and speaks in his defeatist mood to people present there. Reassuring him, Kr...ishna promises that he himself would take up weapons and kill Bheeshma the next day if Arjuna does not want to kill his grandsire. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for Arjuna, Krishna tells Yudhishthira, for Arjuna is his friend, his relation and his disciple. He would cut his flesh off and give it, if that would help Arjuna. What we see here is a very fascinating face of Lord Krishna, a very human face. We see the same human face of Lord Krishna later when Karna had killed Ghatotkacha using Vaijayanti, the Shakti Indra gave him as a return gift for Karna’s armour and earrings that made him unswayable in war.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to the lous feet of Lord Krishna and seek His bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!

Bishwa Nath Singh:

The first time it happened towards the end of the third day of the war. The five Pandava brothers, Dhrishtadyumna, Abhimanyu, Satyaki, Ghatotkacha were all in a fierce mood and were slaughtering the Kaurava army mercilessly. The Kaurava arm...y starts fleeing in all directions and Duryodhana comes to Bheeshma and tells him that if he did not want to fight the Pandavas, he should have told so at the beginning itself. He includes Drona and Kripa too in his accusation – if the three of them had told him at the beginning that they wouldn’t harm the Pandava brothers, Satyaki and Dhrishtadyumna, then he would have thought of other alternatives right at the beginning of war.A furious Bheeshma now begins attacking the Pandava army savagely. Describing the war that ensued then, Sanjaya told Dhritarashtra that such a battle had never been heard of or nor seen Bheeshma danced on the floor of his chariot displaying his splendid skills and it looked as though Bheeshma was, in the words of the epic, like an alata chakra, the glowing wheel that appears when an ember is moved in circles. He seemed to be everywhere at once. People saw him in the north and then when they looked at the south, he was there, and then again in the east and the west, all at the same time. It was as though there was not one Bheeshma in the battlefield, but several.Krishna reminds Arjuna of the pledge he had made before the war in the assembly of kings – that he would kill Bheeshma, Drona and all the other warriors of Duryodhana along with their friends and relatives. Krishna told him that the time has come now to fulfill his vow. Arjuna asked Krishna to take his chariot before Drona. A battle begins between Bheeshma and Arjuna, in which Bheeshma is like a fierce tempest, like a whirlwind destroying everything in its path, shooting arrows at both Arjuna and Krishna with savage fury, his arrows piercing both of them with relentless ferocity. They are both bathed in blood, and such was the pain that Krishna had experienced, his entire body began shivering in agony. On one side Krishna was watching this inexorable rage of Bheeshma and on the other he was seeing that Arjuna was not really putting up a fight – he was gentle and soft. The best of the Pandava army was falling dead all around them, picked up individually and slaughtered by Bheeshma. The Mahabharata uses the word ‘yuganta’ for Bheeshma and ‘mrdu’ for Arjuna – the grandsire was like the all-consuming fire at the end of the world and Arjuna, soft. Krishna’s rage now knew no bounds. Time has come for him to act – he decides. He would himself put on the armour and fight the battle for the Pandavas. He would kill Bheeshma by himself. In the meantime, the best of the Pandava warriors were scattering and running away in all directions to save their lives. Bheeshma’s fury was growing every minute and Arjuna was continuing to act soft towards his grandsire. Unable to stand it anymore, Krishna remembers his wheel Sudarshana, which instantly appears in his hand. With the furiously whirling Sudarshana in his hand, roaring aloud again and again, he jumped down from the chariot and rushed towards Bheeshma. The earth shook as Krishna’s steps fell on it.Arjuna now jumps down from the chariot and pursues Krishna. He catches hold of his arms, struggling to stop him. This has no effect on Krishna, who drags Arjuna along and continues to rush at Bheeshma like a storm. Arjuna now catches hold of Krishna’s leg and tries to stop him – eventually Krishna stops. Arjuna now prostrates before Krishna and requests him to control his anger. He promises, by his brothers and sons, that he would keep his vow – he shall now fight. He would do his duty, he would finish off the Kauravas. It is only then that Krishna got pacified. The second time Krishna rushes at Bheeshma on the ninth day of the war. The Mahabharata describes this scene, frequently repeating its words and phrases used to describe the first scene. The grandsire had been spreading death in the battlefield like a murderous fire and men perished in their thousands before the old man’s rage. It looked like if Bheeshma continued in that mood for a while more, there would be no warriors left alive in the Pandava army. Krishna takes Arjuna’s chariot before the grandsire so that the fiercest archer on the Pandava side can counter Bheeshma and put an end to his life. However, while the grandsire attacks Arjuna ferociously, Krishna sees that there is no matching fury in Arjuna’s response and that had sent Krishna into a savage wrath, for he wanted Bheeshma dead, because if that does not happen immediately the war would be lost. His eyes spitting fire, his limbs burning with rage, Krishna jumped down from his chariot and rushed towards Bheeshma, his hands raised in the air. Here is the Mahabharata’s compelling description the scene: “Krishna, the mighty warrior, the destroyer of enemy armies, could not tolerate it when he saw that Arjuna was putting up only a gentle fight against Bheeshma and that Bheeshma himself was showering torrents of arrows relentlessly and standing in the middle of their army was scorching them like the merciless midday sun, ceaselessly killing one after the other the best warriors on the Pandava side, creating the effect of a holocaust among them. Abandoning the silver horses of Arjuna, he, Vasudeva, the great yogi, leapt down from the mighty chariot, and, roaring repeatedly like a lion, he ran towards Bheeshma, his whip in his hand, his hands his only weapons. As he ran, the lord of the universe, Krishna in his splendor, his eyes red with anger, looked as if he was pulverizing the earth with his feet.”This time there was no chakra in Krishna’s hands. All he had was his charioteer’s horsewhip. As on the earlier occasion, Arjuna had jumped down from his chariot and ran after Krishna, desperately trying to hold him back with his arms. This time too he did not succeed, such was Krishna’s wrath. Dragging Arjuna along, Krishna continued to rush forward as on the earlier occasion. Seeing that he is unable to hold him back, Arjuna then caught hold of Krishna’s leg. Krishna still dragged Arjuna along for another ten paces; it is only then that he is somehow able to stop Krishna and remind him of his vow not to fight in the battle. Arjuna promises Krishna that he will no more be lenient, he will kill Bheeshma, and then Krishna controlled himself. His anger was not spent, though, for he is like a volcano still, silent, fuming.Whether we accept the popular version of Krishna rushing at Bheeshma with a chariot wheel in his hand, the first Sanskrit version of his rushing at him with the Sudarshana in his hand or the second incident of him rushing with his whip in his hand, one thing is very clear. The Krishna we see here is a very human Krishna. His anger completely human, his frustration completely human. In his fury he forgets he has taken the vow not to fight. In the second incident in the Sanskrit epic such is his rage that as he rushes towards Bheeshma he forgets to drop the horsewhip he has been holding in his hand; he forgets to empty his hands so that he can throttle Bheeshma if that is what he had in mind, he forgets to pick up a weapon with which to kill the grandsire, if that was his intention. Krishna blindly rushes at Bheeshma, his eyes spitting fire.It is a very human face of Krishna we see here and that face is not one he has put on. It is not a mere show, it is genuine. The epic’s description makes it crystal clear. And if it is not clear enough, it becomes clearer still that night when Yudhishthira gets into his usual melancholy mood in the camp and speaks in his defeatist mood. Reassuring him, Krishna promises that he himself would take up weapons and kill Bheeshma the next day if Arjuna does not want to his grandsire. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for Arjuna, Krishna tells Yudhishthira.

Why did Lord Krishna not personally fight in the war of Mahabharata as invisaged by me on the f.b. of June 2,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh
While, I was delivering a key note address in a social gathering of intellectuals the other day, some one had raised the question as why did Lord Krishna not personally fight in the war of Mahabharata if he had come all the way on this worldly earth to establish dharma and destroy adharma?

Bishwa Nath Singh :

He had further questioned as if Lord Krishna could personally kill Kansa, Shishupal and many other great warriors and could engage himself in other wars, why did he then not fight in the Mahabharata war?Well, it was a very good question... that often haunts our mind. Let me reproduce my reply that I had mentioned to his inquisitiveness on this count: In the Holy Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna tells Warrior Arjuna: Nimittamatram bhava savyasachin. Be thou, Oh Savyasachin, a mere instrument in the hands of the divine and that is what Lord Krishna had wanted. The fact was that the battle was actually being fought by him and at the same ,it was true that he did not take up any weapon in his hand, but each move being made was planned by him, each step was being taken as he per his wish. It’s almost like personally fighting the war, even if one does not take up the weapons in his/her arms. One will recollect that in Rajasthan, we have the legendary story of Barbareek who is also known as Khatu Shyamji. According to legends, Krishna and Arjuna, dressed as ascetics, were roaming in search of warriors who could fight on their side in the Mahabharata war. It was while they were resting under a papal tree that they came across a strong, robust and physically built young man on a horse. Who was asked by them to disclose his identity as who is he riding the horse. He very politely replied to them as he was Barbareek, the grandson of Bheema though as per another version, he was the son of Bheema himself and the Naga maiden Ahilavati and was on his way to join the Mahabharata war, as asked by his mother. They enquire on whose side he would fight and he says on the side of those who lose – that is the instruction he had been given by his mother. Soon, Krishna asked him what he can do and could he demonstrate his warrior skill with arrows by tying up all the leaves of the Papal tree with a single arrow shot from his bow. The story also tells us that Krishna hid one fallen papal leaf under his foot and that the arrow, after piercing all other leaves and threading them together approached Krishna’s foot and hovered above it until Krishna lifted his foot and the arrow succeeded in piercing and collecting it too, after which the arrow went back to Barbareek’s quiver.Sensing how dangerous Barbareek could be if he joined the Kaurava side, Krishna, as a monk, asked for “bhiksha” (alms) Barbareek’s head. Barbareek readily gave it, and requested for a return favor that he should be allowed to see the war. His head should be placed on the top of the papal tree from where he would be able to see the Kurukshetra battle. Krishna did it so and Barbareek’s head had watched the entire war from atop that Papal tree.Legend also says that when the battle was over the Pandavas argued among themselves about who was responsible for victory in the war.Krishna suggested that better they ask Barbareek – after all, he had seen the entire war from the tree top. When Barbareek was approached, he answered very quickly that he could see only two things in the entire war: Krishna’s Sudarshana wheel slaughtering Kaurava warriors and Draupadi drinking up all the blood, having transformed herself into Mahakali. There is every possibility that Lord Krishna did fight in the Mahabharata war. Maybe, it was He alone who fought the entire battle with care and wisdom under garb of Pandavas!

True meaning of love as flashed on the f.b on June 2,2011.

Let our soul fly like a free bird flying in air, mountains, valleys and everywhere with great ease that lately fall in the arms of one’s beloved and softly say "that he/she loves one immensely! Though, one’s romantic Ideas and journey on the path of love are simply tempting. So, it’s better that one should get addicted to the dose of love that will mesmerize him/her so that at end, he/she can learn inherent message hidden behind love as Lord Krishna had experimented on Goddess Radha Rani who became an idol of love, passion and wisdom. It's right time for all of us to remember our savior and pay our humble obeisance to His lotus feet for all the favor He has done to us.

Sleep affects how one feels, his/her relationships, productivity and quality of life. While you sleep, your brain goes to work, consolidating the day's learning into memory and reenergizing the body. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to sleep. Tossing and turning. One’s mind is racing, going over everything that happened on the current day. Night noises keep one’s awake and that must be stopped, One must get up and go to bed the same time every day and must use his/her own bed for sleeping .One must refrain from exercise at least four hours before bedtime One should go for Luke warm hot bath a hour and half before his/her bed time. One should have a light snack before going to bed. One must take precaution and be sure that his/her bed and bedroom are quiet and comfortable .One should sleep only when he/she feels sleepy and that too after washing feet & hands and offering prayers to God.

How life could be best defined is flashed by me on the f.b of June 1,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh
Life is termed as a precious gift of nature with a purposeful meaning. Life is an eventful journey with a number of pleasant surprises at every point. Life is a wonder that is why after being here for so many years, we are still uncertain about Life is itself a question and an answer.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Life to me is a state of awareness. We live and enjoy till we are aware of our existence and the day we loose this sense and understanding of life, we move outside the periphery of life.Every one of us often complain on things that happen d...uring this journey of awareness, indicating that there has been some misunderstanding between the life and oneself. One who is leading a blissful life is certainly a lucky one. Life is series of events that occur one after the other. Some of these events are certain and sure to take place like birth, survival and death. These are the events that take place in everyone's life, whether rich or poor, good or bad, man or woman, cattle or wild life. We are fully aware that they take place just but because of their life and therefore life have an element of uncertainty that is the best ingredient of life which makes it more interesting and entertaining. Certainty although looks good but if this element certainty replaces uncertainty in our life it will definitely make life worse. We won't be speculating, we won't be enjoying things as we won't find anything enjoyable in all these happenings around us at all. As all that happened was already identifiable altogether. What is the fun in watching a game for one where he/she ids aware as who will be the winner and the looser. Game is a game where both the teams work hard to be a winner. Even if a team is stronger and hard working it isn't always going to win the game. This uncertainty makes us keen to watch the game. This uncertainty is visible .This occupies all the professions, acts and phenomenon of this universe. Take any profession whether its medical science, engineering, farming, marketing, banking and rest, there are always probabilities, trends, and facts in support but not the conclusion. They all conclude that if things go right we can achieve this thing or this will happen. Everyone waits and watches till the completion of task to see the final outcome. Many of us with a pessimistic view may not wish that this could be the truth. They think when there is no certainty and every thing is uncertain then how can they think of welfare, of good results, of peace, of happiness. Well, I think they may be right from pessimistic point of view on uncertainty in life but actually this is something to cheer up on.Life and nature provides this as an option to give us a second chance to do things to our utmost satisfaction because results will only affirm the same. There are several occasions in life when things become really gloomy and there is no way to find a ray of light. Here, at some moment things may dramatically change because there is no guarantee that such things won't happen. This uncertainty gives life to life, a reason for everyone to smile. Life is a game of certainty versus uncertainty. One never knows as who will win and loose a particular game. Therefore, it is worth enjoying the game of life without looking at the outcome. Bhagavad Gita is a part of ancient Sanskrit text from 'Mahabharata". It has a deep rooted philosophy on all aspects of our life. All of us here on this planet are actually searching for happiness and meaning of life, that is why we do things one after the other and are always busy. We are busy because we haven't yet completed our task and we will remain busy till we find a satisfactory answer for either happiness or meaning of life. Our search for such answers actually takes us to more and more unresolved question and thus this life cycle continues. All these problems and endless search can be attributed to our multidimensional logical power of our brain. So, once our brain ceases to perform all our semidiurnal problems and searches also cease.Let us be thankful to God who has guided us to survive well in our life and rise to help mankind as whole for cause of humanity taking it as an ordeal of the Almighty God who is none else than Lord Krishna!
