We observe May day today on the May 1,2011 in India enjoying public holiday though its being Sunday. It is a day to resolve to be good and do well to others with a note of being good and maintaining most cordial relationship amongst all irrespective of one’s status and position.

We observe May day today on the May 1, 2011 in India enjoying public holiday though its being Sunday. It is a day to resolve to be good and do well to others with a note of being good and maintaining most cordial relationship amongst all ir...respective of one’s status and position. After a relatively long period, a new wave of class struggle is emerging. After the movements of the oppressed in Latin America and the youth and workers’ movements in Europe, the Arab revolution has shaken the planet This year the workers across the planet will commemorate May Day in one of the most turbulent and traumatic periods in history. The world is ravaged by wars, terrorism, bloodshed, economic catastrophe and unprecedented poverty, misery, disease and destitution. The vast majority of the human race has been plunged into the devastation of deprivation, hunger and suffering. The relations between labour and capital had deteriorated with the policies of privatization, downsizing, liberalization, restructuring and contract labor. Redundancies and layoffs have become a regular feature of modern capitalism. Social services and the benefits of the workers have been viciously cut through draconian austerity measures throughout the capitalist world. Even during the recession, when the workers had to bear the brunt of the financial meltdown, the bankers, capitalists and the bosses of the multinational corporations plundered on and enriched themselves to obscene levels. The gap between the ruling elites and the toiling masses has widened to unprecedented levels. In the largest capitalist country of the world, the US, one percent of the richest households now own more wealth than the ninety five percent of the rest of the population. The same story is repeated throughout the world. The situation in countries like China and India is even worse. India has about twenty percent of the world’s population yet hosts about forty percent of the world’s poverty and yet now there are more billionaires in India than in Japan. The highest amounts of plundered money stashed away in Swiss banks belong to Indian capitalists, reportedly nearly fifteen trillion dollars. Let us hope that May day will remind us to be very considerate towards each other and gap between worker and owner will be narrowed down to bring peace and prosperity amongst all! It is hoped that the Air India’s Pilots strike that is going on since last four days will reach to amicable settlement and call off their strike in wake of High Court’s order immediately and reply to their sow- cause notice to save hardship of air passengers.

"Elephant is still used as satus symbol and adored in India" by Bishwa Nath Singh.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Elephants are mammals and the largest land animals alive today. The elephant's gestation period is twenty two months, the longest of any land animal. At birth it is common for an elephant calf to weigh one hundred twenty Kg. An elephant may live as long as seventy years, sometimes longer. This male weighed about twelve thousand kg with a shoulder height of little over four meter. They are symbols of wisdom in Asian cultures, and are famed for their exceptional memory and high intelligence.Elephants have been an integral part of their cultural history, dating as far back as the Vedic Period (1500B.C. to 600B.C.) Elephants eventually gained a higher status than the horse, which was an extremely important animal in Indian culture. The elephant became the carrier of Lord Indra, the King of the Gods. They were also prominent in the stories of Buddha with elephant festivals and processions being commonplace. By 231B.C. the elephant had become the emblem of Buddhism and they appeared as prominent features in artistic carvings. Elephant possession and use as a royal mount was firmly established as they were known as an asset of war. The war elephants in India were used from the 1st millennium B.C. to the early 19th century. A staggering number of elephants have died fighting wars during India’s history. It was not until the introduction of muskets in mid-1700, that elephants were no longer needed to fight in the front lines of battle. However, their importance for use was not diminished because they could still transport soldiers, ammunition and supplies over extremely rough terrain where men could not go alone. All elephants in private ownership in India were put into active military service to defend their borders against the Japanese who had invaded Burma and Southeast Asia during the world war -II. It was not until the introduction of the jeep that the role of the elephant in India had ended. Today elephants are still used as status symbols in some temples, in circuses, and by the forest and tourism department of the government. It stands as a symbol of eternal India. Elephant can smell water three miles away. The elephant is the only mammal that can't jump The elaphant's teeth can weight as much as nine pounds each Like most noses, trunks are for smelling. But they're also for touching and grasping. When an elephant drinks, it sucks as much as 2 gallons (7.5 liters) of water into its trunk at a time. Then it curls its trunk under, sticks the tip of its trunk into its mouth, and blows. Out comes the water, right down the elephant's throat. he elephant can also use its trunk to grasp an entire tree branch and pull it down to its mouth. Elephants also use their trunks to yank up clumps of grasses and shove the greenery into their mouths. When an elephant gets a whiff of something interesting, it sniffs the air with its trunk raised up like a submarine periscope. If threatened, an elephant will also use its trunk to make loud trumpeting noises as a warning Elephants pick up and spray dust the same way they do water-with their trunks. Elephants are social creatures. They sometimes "hug" by wrapping their trunks together in displays of greeting and affection. Elephants also use their trunks to help lift or nudge an elephant calf over an obstacle, to rescue a fellow elephant stuck in mud, or to gently raise a newborn elephant. Let us save this mammal from extinction as they are adored in our country !

Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparhi had left for heavenly abode on Sunday, the 24th of April 2011 at 7:40 AM after nearly a month of his being hospitalized for treatment in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences ,Ananatpur clos...e to his southern Indian ashram Puttaparthi had caused a great vacuum in religious cult difficult to be fulfilled in and has come as standstill in the personal life of most of us.. The great was eighty four years old of our modern era and remained bachelor all throughout his life. He was known as a Godly person an incarnation of His Holiness Sri Sathya Sai Ram Of Shirdi widely revered for his religious pursuits and social-service, making most of us cry and shaken with grief who was given Mahasamadhi ( last rites) with full state honor amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras by learned Hindu Priests. His last rites were performed at Sai Kulwant Hall of Prasanthi Nilayam at Puttaparhi of Anantpur Distrct of Andhra Pradesh of India on the 27th of April 2011 amidst chanting of Vedic mantras and amidst presence of religious leaders belonging to different religion and faith the ritual was carried out by his nephew who is also a trustee.Sri Sathya Sai Baba and his organizations used to support a variety of free educational institutions, hospitals, and other charitable works in India and abroad. The number of active Sathya Sai Baba adherents was estimated to be over six million, although followers' estimations are far higher. Since there are no formal ties of membership, the actual figure may never be known The Sathya Sai Organization reports that there are an estimated one thousand twelve hundred Sathya Sai Baba Centers in one hundred fourteen countries worldwide. Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi was a cultural .icon of India who had attracted Presidents and Prime Ministers from India and beyond who have become his devotees; , he claimed to have followers in nearly two hundred countries of the world. It was one of the greatest sad news that had shaken most of us with grief. Just two days, after Sri Sathya Sai Baba was laid finally to rest, the moment of joy came to our life to enjoy and be happy to watch much publicized and costliest Britain Royal wedding of Prince William and his fiancée Kate Middleton in the Westminster Abbey- Church at London with solemn dignity by watching the whole ceremony through medias that was life telecaste on Friday, the 29th of April 2011. It was told that the bride Kate Middleton had visited her mother-in-law Diana’s grave before her wedding to seek blessings from her for her new life. It was said that it was one of the biggest royal occasion after nearly three decade and one which supporters hope heralds a renaissance for a monarchy that, following the divorce and death of Princess Diana, had seemed at peril from calls for a British republic. Prince William was looking smart in a red tunic of an Irish Guards colonel whereas Kate was looking stunning in an Alexander McQueen creation, exchanged vows and rings in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, at the altar. There were fifty foreign royals among the one thousand nine hundred guests at Westminster Abbey Church at London close to Birmingham Palace- official residential Palace of Royal family of London. Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Duke of Edinburgh had attended their grandson’s Prince William wedding. The queen was seen in an egg yolk colored dress. Kate’s Brother James Middleton read the lesson and congratulated the duo whereas her father has escorted his daughter Kate Middleton to the Westminster Abbey- church for her wedding and was seen in a very gay mood all throughout the ceremony. Prince William‘s father Prince Charles was also present along with his second wife to grace the occasion. Prince William was escorted to the church for his wedding by his most loving younger brother who too was seen a very jolly mood. Thousands had gathered outside the Westminster Abbey to greet the newly-wed couple. Around five thousand police personnel were on duty on Friday and looked after the security of this high profile marriage ceremony. It was a very joyous occasion for all spread round the globe. Now, Prince William and his newly wedded wife Kate will be known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as proclaimed by the Queen of England. On their return to Buckingham Palace in traditional horse drawn Chariot, the royal couple appeared on Buckingham Palace balcony on Friday in the evening seen kissing each other keeping tradition that was established by Prince William’s Parents : Prince Charles( Prince of Wales) and Princess Diana when they had returned at the same place after their wedding on 29 July 1981 whose wedding was held at St. Paul's Cathedral, was televised and watched by a global audience of over seven hundred fifty million people. Nevertheless to mention that Diana had become a most important public figure from the announcement of her engagement to Prince Charles, who was born into an old, aristocratic English family with royal ancestry, and remained the focus of worldwide media scrutiny before, during and after her marriage, which ended in divorce on the 28th of August 1996. The media attention continued following her death in a car crash in Paris on the 31 st of August 1997, and in the subsequent display of public mourning a week later. Diana also received recognition for her charity work and for her support of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. From 1989, she continued to be the president of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children till her last. That was also one of the reason that the recent Britain Royal wedding of Diana’s eldest son Prince William with Kate Middleton drew lot of applaud and sympathy from people living drawn from all over the world and everybody was happy to see them wedded with great honor and watched their Royal Kiss from the Buckingham Palace balcony on Friday, the 29th of April 2011 after their return to the said Palace in view of their family members and huge gathering of Public waited outside for this happy moment to seal their wedding and togetherness of Royal couple with joy. There was another reason also to be jubilant as Kate Middleton came from a very simple family with no royal stigma on their back on their shoulders and people had reason to see as how she fares as spouse of a Royal Prince William. The people had watched maid of honor Kate’s sister following Kate-the bride and her father escorting loveliest bride being his daughter to the Church where Prince William and Kate Middleton were happily wedded with gaiety and fervor .Let us once again wish the newly married couple all the best in their long, happy and successful marital life!

How love could be well defined as envisaged and flashed by me on the f.b. of April 30,2011

Bishwa Nath Singh
:
Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things. Most people think of the definition of love as a strong romantic attachment between two people, often intermingled with sexual desire and attraction.

Bishwa Nath Singh:
Throughout the history of mankind,, people defined love more broadly, encompassing many relationships. These forms of love and affection hold true today, although may not be the first definition that comes to mind when one hears the word Ne...arly all religions and cultures use precise language to define love. Most languages use various words to express levels of emotion, kinship, or affection Our modern language uses the word love almost too frequently. We say “I love you” to our spouses, but say “I love chocolate ice cream!” to a friend to express a much less intense feeling. Some people define love not by a feeling, but by actions. In this definition, love isn’t what you say – it’s what you do. Love would then be a verb, expressed in unselfish actions and deeds. It can be well summarized in the following verse:“Love is the flower of life, and blossoms unexpectedly and without law, and must be plucked where it is found and enjoyed for the brief hour of its duration.”It is high time that we must go for eternal love and establisgh close relationship with God by remaining good and doing well to others for cause of humanity that is what our great saga had taught us.

A glimpse on as how marriage could be defined as flashed on the f.b. on April 30,2011.

...Remove PostBishwa Nath Singh

Marriage is the union of two distinct individuals that have two different sets of opinion, thinking and views. Once the two start living together, their differences are likely to cause problems. So, it is essential that one must learn the art of practicing patience, which is also an important component in successful marriage.

Bishwa Nath Singh:
It is the Photograph of one of the celebrity of our cine world when she was wedded.Patience is an attitude and a positive quality that proves the strong-will and mental strength of an individual. Patience is derived from self-respect and re...spect for one’s life partner. A patient approach helps in achieving solutions and compromise, which ranting and abusive behavior can never beget. Love is the key ingredient for successful Married life. Love prompts respect, understanding, forgiveness and humility. Love makes the groom tolerable towards his bride imperfections and also sometimes seems to make them almost perfect for each other. Learning to accept and forgive with humbleness is a part of being in love and this also doesn’t allow pride to interfere in the smooth functioning of a relationship. When couples enter the sanctity of marriage, they are filled with hope for a future full of love and laughter. It is usually seen that in the initial few months of marriage are representative of all they have ever desired and wished for. A newly-married couple is so engrossed with each other, that sharing, understanding and compromise becomes the order of the day with the only goal of making each other happy and contented. But this bliss of the first few moths often fails to last and relationships often get into trouble due to the indifference of both the individuals on certain major points. The problem often lies in the thinking of the partners with regards to the institution of marriage. It is not realistic to desire for the best things in a marital union without putting in the least amount of effort. On the other hand, couples must work towards attaining happiness. Happiness in marriage can only be achieved through the pathway of love and care. This gives rise to the concept of Marriage Care. Indeed, Marriage Care is as simple as it sounds. Marriage requires equal amount of nurturing as does a newborn. When couples care for their marriage, it shows that they respect themselves and each other, and care enough to work things out for the best.Let us hope that the couple will remain considerate towards each other and will ensure that their love remain intactif they want to have blissful married life till their end!

A Christian wedding ceremony incorporates traditional Christian elements and Scriptural readings. An ordained priest performs the ceremony reading.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Among the main pre wedding rituals there are functions like bridal shower, which is an informal party hosted by the bride's female friends. It is mainly a female get together to celebrate the occasion. It is a fun filled function where game...s are played, they sing and dance the whole night. The friends and relatives shower gifts upon the bride. The bride serves a pink cake with a thimble hidden inside. Just like the bridal shower, which is an all girl's party a bachelor's party is also celebrated by the groom and his male friends. It is called a stag party hosted by the groom on the eve of his wedding or a couple of days earlier. Usually this is a wild party, and the groom is expected to enjoy his last night as a bachelor. It is customary to raise a toast before the drinking begins in earnest. It is mostly celebrated to have fun and enjoyment with his close fiends. The church announces the name of the bride and the groom three weeks prior to the date of the marriage. Thus initiates a Christian Wedding. On the wedding day the church is decorated and a group of choir singers accompany the entire wedding proceedings. A prayer is said in the respective houses of the bride and the groom before they leave for the church. The ceremony begins with a procession of the celebrant (priest), the wedding attendants, and the bride and groom. The priest greets the community and invokes God's blessings upon the couple, those gathered and the event. The bride's wedding dress is usually the traditional white gown or a brocade Sari. The bride in her white veil is accompanied by two little girls holding flower baskets and her close friends. Whereas, the groom comes in a suit along with his "best man". An Anglo Christian bride traditionally wears a white gown in western style and the groom wears a suit. The couple walks down the corridor slowly but gracefully till they reach where the priest stands, who welcomes them and offers his best wishes. The priest delivers readings from the Bible as selected by the couple. Like in all Indian matrimonial rituals, this community too, has an interesting lecture with an emphasis on the sanctity of marriage given by the priest. Then, the bride and the groom hold each other's right hand and make the Solemn Promise of lifelong loyalty stating that they will stay together through thick and thin. In the name of God the couple takes the oath of life-long loyalty to each other. The groom's family gifts a ring and a "mangalsutra" - the auspicious wedding dollar and a cross - to the bride. In the church the couple stands in front of the altar along with the priest who is responsible for conducting the wedding. Then the priest declares them "Man and Wife" after they exchange wedding rings. He also presents the couple with a "rosary" to solemnize the occasion. The Bride and Groom pledge their love and allegiance to one another. The rings are blessed by the priest and exchanged by the Bride and Groom as a symbol of their new bond. The groom may also present the bride with a mangalsutra. Another common feature of the Indian community that has been extended to the Christian community matrimonial alliance is the Mangalsutra. The priest concludes the ceremony with a lecture on marriage and the union of the bride and groom. The final segment of the service includes blessings of the community to the new couple, a dismissal, and a final recessional from the church. Guests are free to exit once the couple, the wedding party, and the priest have recessed. After the ceremony, the guests are escorted to a reception where they give their blessings to the newlyweds. They cut the wedding cake and feed each a bite of the first slice. The Toastmaster proposes a toast in honor of the couple. The reception is mostly celebrated with dance and dinner party. In many functions, a live band performs and everybody dances to the tune of the band.

A fairy tale of Royal marriage came true on April 29,2011 as flashed on the f.b. on April 30,2011

A fairy tale of royal marriage of Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge who is twenty eight years old who had lost her most loving mother Diana when he was barely fifteen years old had opted to wear the red tunic with a blue sash, the uniform of an Irish Guards colonel, his most senior honorary appointment, instead of the blue Royal Air Force uniform at the time of his wedding on the 29th of April 2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh :

Prince William is known as the search and rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force, the second in line to the British throne, is the eldest son of Prince Charles and late Diana, the princess of Wales and grand son of Queen of England Elizabeth... II and Prince Philip. Kate Middleton, the spouse of Prince William now called as the Duchess of Cambridge happened to be a year older to him and she comes from a business family, looked a vision in white in her long Chantilly-lace sleeved dress that flared gently from the waist and a train - much shorter than her late mother-in-law's though she looked gorgeous whom Prince William wedded with solemn dignity witnessed by one thousand nine hundred guests inside the Westminster Abbey at London which has seen history unfold over thousand years on the 29th of April 2011. Notably present in the said Westminster Abbey church were Queen Elizabeth in a buttercup yellow dress along with her husband Prince Philip, the Duchess of Cornwall and William's stepmother Camilla in an ivory white outfit as well as other family members and showbiz stars like Victoria and David Beckham, Elton John and Guy Ritchie. Global leaders like Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard were there too. The newly-weds were seen in the State Landau, specifically built for King Edward VII in 1902 and the same carriage used by Prince Charles and Lady Diana in 1981. The couple waved to the delirious crowds, with William also saluting as he passed fellow soldiers. Over three lakh people had gathered at Hyde Park, with thousands camping overnight to grab the best location to see the royal couple. The marriage was a culmination of eight long and sometimes lonely years of waiting for Kat Middleton. Unlike the Queen, who promised to obey Prince Philip when they married in 1947, Kate Middleton had pledged only to 'love, comfort, honour and keep'.There were mass celebrations in Britain, with over five thousand street parties, including one hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron at Downing Street. It was an unforgettable moment as the couple emerged on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to exchange their first public kiss as the surging crowds below cheered lustily in the evening of the 29th of April 2011 after they were wedded. The residents of Bucklebury, Kate Middleton's village, celebrated her wedding to Prince William by wearing Union Jack-themed clothes, drinking champagne and taking part in duck races. As now the royal couple is happily wedded and has started their day with a very happy note with good smile on their face, let us hope that they will keep on their marriage on right track and will lead a very blissful married life till their end. Let us join to wish and pray for their most blissful married life!

Bishwa Nath Singh:

His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton ( now  Royal couple known as Duke and Ditches of Cambridge respectively) were wedded on  April 29,2011 in Westminster Abbey in London in presence of one thousand nine hundred guests including many Royal guests from all over the globe. The wedding helped to arrive at both traditional and modern British values. It  marked the beginning  of a tremendously exciting period for the UK, when the world keenly watched and celebrated the occasion with joy. Nevertheless to mention that the year 2012 will be the Diamond Jubilee Year: the Sixtieth anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne. In July, London will host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. During this time, Britain will  certainly show not only why it is one of the most exciting places to live, visit and work in the world – but also why it is such an open, connected, dynamic and creative country, that successfully combines history and tradition with modernity and innovation. Royal kiss has added glamour of its celebration. Let us wish the newly married royal couple all the best in their married life!

Thousands were seen waving hands and... flags across the flag-lined streets of London to catch glimpse of cavavalry person in shinning ornamental breastplates, groomed horses and the ornate carriage carrying royal couple back to Birmingham palace after their wedding held at Westminster Abbey Church at London. It was told that Kate had visited her mother-in-law Diana’s grave before her wedding with Prince William to seek her blessings for their new life. It was said that it was one of the biggest royal occasion after nearly three decade and one which supporters hope heralds a renaissance for a monarchy that, following the divorce and death of Princess Diana, had seemed at peril from calls for a British republic. Prince William was looking smat in a red tunic of an Irish Guards colonel whereas Kate was looking stunning in an Alexander McQueen creation, exchanged vows and rings in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, at the altar. ‎'Abhijnana Shakuntala' (the recognition of Shakuntala) was one of the greatest play written by Kalidas as flashed on the f.b. on April 28,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh

‎'Abhijnana Shakuntala' (the recognition of Shakuntala) was one of the greatest play written by Kalidas, a great Sanskrit Scholar in Sanskrit who still continues to be very popular all over the country as it speaks about the birth of Bharat on whose name the country was named Bharat Desam.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

In the said painting, Shakuntala was shown writting letters to King Dushyanta when he did not turn up to her for many years. The story of his encounter, marriage, separation and reuniting with his queen, Shakuntala, has been immortalized ...in The Recognition of Sakuntala by the great Sanskrit poet Kalidasa. Shakuntala was the daughter of the sage Vishwamitra and the apsara Menaka. Abandoned at birth by her parents, Shakuntala was reared in the secluded, sylvan hermitage of the sage Kanva, and grew up a comely but innocent maiden. While Kanva and the other elders of the hermitage are away on a pilgrimage, Dushyanta, king of Hastinapura, came hunting in the forest and chances upon the hermitage. He is captivated by Shakuntala, courts her in royal style, and marries her. He then has to leave to take care of affairs in the capital. Dushyanta presented Shakuntala a royal ring as a sign of their love, promising her that he would return to her soon. But when Dushyanta became king, he got absorbed for many years in affairs of managing his kingdom. Shakuntala had no other option than to wait for him desperately. One day, a sage anger-prone Durvasa visited the hermitage, but Shakuntala, who was too absorbed in her love for Dushyanta, forgot to serve him food. In a fit of anger, the sage had cursed her, saying that the person whom she has been thinking about will forget her that shocked Shakuntala who begged with tears in her eyes with folded hands for forgiveness to Saga. The sage, after getting cool and calm, assured her that the person will remember her again when she shows some proof of their acquaintance. So, Shakuntala sets off to the capital to remind Dushyanta of their past love. What’s a great tragedy in her life that an accident occurred by which a fish consumed the royal ring, leaving Shakuntala with no formidable proof. She later travels to meet him, and has to cross a river. The ring is lost when it slips off her hand when she dips her hand in the water playfully. On arrival the king refuses to acknowledge her. Shakuntala was abandoned by her companions, who returned to the hermitage. Fortunately, later on, the ring was discovered by a fisherman in the belly of a fish who brought that ring to King Dushayanta seeing his name engraved on that ring. Dushyanta realized his blunder but that was too late. While recollecting his fondest love for Shakuntala, King Dushyanta married her who became his queen and mother of his son, Bharata. By another account, it was told that Bharata was born while Shakuntala awaited Dushyanta at her hermitage on the name of their son Bharat the country was named as Bharat Desham.

He was said as a child to display a tendency toward spirituality and unusual intelligence, which he expressed through music, dance and writing poetry and plays. In 1940, at the age of 14, he declared himself an reincarnation, of another Hindu holy man called the Sai Baba of Shirdi, a town in western Maharashtra state, who had died in 1918.As the young guru attracted followers, his home of Puttaparti grew from a sleepy village into a vibrant town with the sprawling "Prasanthi Nilayam" ashram built in 1950, as well as a large hospital, a university and schools run by his Satya Sai Central Trust, set up in 1972 with donations from devotees. The trust - estimated to be worth at least $8.9 billion and possibly much more - also established spiritual centers in the cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. It built another hospital in Bangalore, where Sai Baba had a summer home, and funded water supply projects in several southern states.Though no successor has been named to run the trust, it has assured "there is or will be no vacuum," according to a recent statement released after the guru was given Mahasmadhi on Wednesday, the 27th of April 2011 at Kulwant Hall of Prasanthi Nilayam with full state honor duly attended by a fleet of eminent politicians, officials, Governors and Chief Ministers besides a crowd of nearly five lakh of his devotees who bade him farewell with tears in their eyes. The whole pocess of His Mahasmadhi was gone through by Hindu Priests and other saintly persons drawn from various religion that lasted for nearly three hours and He was laid to rest shortly before noon of THE 27TH OF April 2011. His last rites were performed by his nephew R.J. Ratnakar amidst chanting of Vedic mantras "The body was lowered in the pit and filled with `Kuruskshetra' matti (soil), salt, silver, gold and navaratnas." The rituals of His Mahasmadhi was carried out in the forenoon of vApril 27,2011 by eighteen priests headed by Kandukoori Kondavadhani from Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh. They were joined by priests from Kashi and nine other peethas across the country. The last rites wa performed by R J Ratnakar, Baba's nephew and an integral part of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Central Trust as per Hindu rituals with great santity and devotion. With all efforts in place to carry out the rites on par with stringent Hindu tradition, the process was included with all elements of nature in the form of Saptha Nadi (seven rivers), navaratna (nine gems), navadaana (giving of nine gifts) and sugandha dravya (perfumeries). Water from the sacred rivers of Narmada, Sindhu, Cauvery, Godavari, Ganga and Jamuna also were brought and sprinkled on the dead body of Sathya Sri Sai Baba by his nephew R.J.Ratnakar with solemn dignity. His health that had wooed over recent years had forced Sri Sathya Sai Baba to cut down on public appearances. He survived a stroke and a series of heart attacks in 1963. In 2005, he began using a wheelchair, and a year later he fractured his hip when a student fell from a stool onto the Guru. Sri Sathya Sai Baba was also mired in controversies, with several news reports about allegations of sexual abuse and fake miracles. A 2004 television program by the British Broadcasting Corporation called the "Secret Swami" featured interviews with at least two American male devotees claiming the guru had fondled their genitals and exposed himself to them while claiming it was part of a healing ritual. Though he denied the allegations and was never charged with any crime, the reports led some to break with the Guru. The ashram also said Sai Baba had survived an attempt against his life, with six devotees including the guru's personal assistant killed in his bedroom in June 1993 after allegedly trying to attack him. Facts of the case still remain a mystery. Sri Sathya Sai Baba had remained bachelor all throughout his life.He was a great saga of modern era and was considered as an incarnation of His Holiness Sathya Sai Ram of Shirdi as a godly man known for his passion and wisdom.Though, He is not physically present in this worldly earth but his teachings and good deeds will always remind of His presence in our heart and He will be remembered and cherished for long. He often uses to lay emphasis that there is only one religion, the religion of love. There is only one caste, the caste of humanity. There is only one language, the language of the heart. There is only one God, He is omnipresent. These versions speak of His mind and that could be of a godly person who felt spreading of love and unity amongst all irrespective of their caste, religion and faith. It is time to resolve to carry out His legacy very truthfully by being good and doing well to others without showing sign of any lust as selfless service for cause of humanity.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to His lotus feet and respectful homage & floral tribute to Him who will always remain close to our heart leading us on the path of glory!
