Kalidas was a great scholar of India of olden era who is still remembered for his great contribution in writing 'Kumarasambhava' and 'Raghuvamsha' who are his two epic poems. 'Malavikagnimitra', 'Vikramorvashiya' and 'Abhijnana Shakuntala' are being his celebrated plays. 'Meghaduta' and 'Ritusamhara' are also being his poetical works of great distinction.

His chronicle of the kings of the Raghu clan ('Raghuvamsha'), the... great play 'Shakuntala' and other works depict, through many great characters, the highest ideals of life as seen by the ancient people of our country.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to his lotus feet and seek his bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!
