A homage to His Holiness Sathya Shri Sai Baba as flashed by me on the f.b. on November 01,2010.

 Bishwa Nath Singh :

Let us pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of His Holiness Sathya Shri Sai Ram under whose umbrella, Hindus and Muslims use to maintain the most cordial relations amongst them and happily took part in each other’s religious festivals who had introduced the tradition of group worship, group prayer and group dinni...ng for all and would share his 'Chilum' (Tobacco pipe) with all and had distinction for having the highest compassion for animals and birds and encouraged his devotees to feed and take care of them! He recognized no difference in temporal status of human beings and use to refuse and decline food brought in silver and gold utensils from a queen but relished a single” Roti”-handmade bread of a beggar woman and showered all His blessing on that woman. He practiced and preached humanism and universal brotherhood all though out his life as similar to that of the Prophet though, he use to love every one equally irrespective of their caste, religion & sex and always preached them the values of one's life and devotion towards God. It’s high time that we must pay our humbe tribute to that godly saint who always cared for all of us and taught us the message of love, peace & universal Brotherhood.

Our humble obeisance's to the lotus feet of Staya Sri Sai Baba whose divine role at Shirdi in the present embodiment covered a period of about sixty four years between 1854, when He made his first appearance in Shirdi, and 1918 when he lef...t His body. However, his sixty years of stay at Shirdi on his second appearance between 1858 and 1918 manifested the depth and expansiveness of his unique role.India was in a cross - road of cultural and religious mix. The Mughal empire was vanishing and the British empire was establishing itself. Western culture and Christianity were slowly entering into the mainstream of Indian life. Religious and cultural intolerance were raising their ugly heads in the Post Sepoy-Mutiny Scenario of India. It could not have been possible for any leader or statesman to bring about harrnony among the divergent religious, cultural groups in such a situation. It was only a God in human form who could dare and accomplish the task of bringing unity between the different religious and social groups.Shri Sai baba had large number of Hindu, Parsee and Muslim devotees. Christians and Sikhs also used to visit Him.

A floral tribute to Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi paid by me as flashed on the f.b on November 01,2010.

 Bishwa Nath Singh:

Indira Gandhi had lived in the best of time and worst of time who was born on the 19 th of November 1917 at Allahabad and died on the 31st of October 1984 at the age of sixty six at New Delhi in India. She had served the nation as its Prime Minister from the 24th of January 1966 to the 24th of March 1977 and again f...rom the 14th of January 1980 to the 31st of October 1984.She was pioneer of green revoution in our country and fought Pak war in 1971.She had invited the late Pak. President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to Shimla for a week-long summit. After the near-failure of the talks, the two heads of state eventually signed the Shimla Agreement, which bound the two countries to resolve the Kashmir dispute by negotiations and peaceful means. Due to her antipathy for Nixon, relations with the United States grew distant, while relations with the Soviet Union grew closer.Let us pay our floral tribute to Her memories and emulate Her Patriotism in our life!

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Indira Gandhi had held a cabinet portfolio as minister of information and broadcasting in Lal Bhadur Shastri's government. She was the only child of Nehru, who was also her mentor in the nationalist movement. The Syndicate selected her as ...prime minister when Shastri died in 1966 even though her eligibility was challenged by Morarji Desai, a veteran nationalist and long-time aspirant to that office. The Congress "bosses" were apparently looking for a leading figure acceptable to the masses, who could command general support during the next general election but who would also acquiesce to their guidance. Hardly had Indira Gandhi begun in office than she encountered a series of problems that defied easy solutions: Mizo tribal uprisings in the northeast; famine, labor unrest, and misery among the poor in the wake of rupee devaluation; and agitation in Punjab for linguistic and religious separatism! She served the nation as its Prime Minister from the 24th of January 1966 to the 24th of March 1977 and again from the 14 of January 1980 to the 31st of October 1984 he had faced many hurdles, got liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan. Unlike during the Emergency, when India registered significant economic and industrial progress, Gandhi's return to power was hindered by a series of woes and tragedies, beginning with Sanjay's death in June 1980 while attempting to perform stunts in his private airplane. Secessionist forces in Punjab and in the northeast and the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in December 1979 consumed her energy. She had pioneered green revolution in the country and Pak. was was fought in 1971 very bravely. She began to involve the armed forces in resolving violent domestic conflicts between 1980 and 1984. In May 1984, Sikh extremists occupied the Golden Temple in Amritsar, converting it into a haven for terrorists. Gandhi responded in early June when she launched Operation Bluestar, which killed and wounded hundreds of soldiers, insurgents, and civilians (see Insurgent Movements and External Subversion, ch. 10). Guarding against further challenges to her power, she removed the chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh just months before her assassination by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984. The news of Indira Gandhi's assassination plunged the whole country and other parts of India. She is remembered as one of the greatest statesmen of the world who lived and died for well-being of our motherland and that is why; she is adored by over billions of People even now spread round the globe.

Bishwa Nath Singh : Indian history has witnessed so far only one female Prime Minister - Indira Gandhi. She was the third Prime Minister of India and the daughter of the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru. Her charm, intelligence and charis...ma made her a powerful statesperson, much loved and admired by people at large. She was born on the 19th November 1917, in Allahabad who was greatly loved by her parents and her grandfather Motilal Nehru, who was a famous lawyer and a public figure in his own right in pre-independence era. Her father had joined the freedom struggle and took very active part in it as one of the first ranking leaders. Indira Priyadarshani thugh she was a very young child who was exposed to politics from the age of three or four years. Her house was the centre of political activity, as all the important leaders stayed there on visiting Allahabad. Mahatma Gandhi was a frequent visitor to her father's residence and she was greatly influenced by him. It was her visit to the Sabarmati Ashram that had left an indelible mark on her psyche and she was impressed by the simple, hard life and patriotic feelings that she witnessed there. She passed her Metric from Pune University and was then sent on to Shantiniketan, formed by Rabindranath Tagore. She was greatly influenced by Guru dev Ravindranath Tagore who loved her quest for her patriotic feelings. she was made to lead a strict highly disciplined life at Shantinektan. From here she went on to study in Switzerland and then to Oxford University in London. After her return to India she married Feroze Gandhi in March 1941 much against the wishes of the conservative Hindu community, as he was a Parsee. Gandhi Ji admired her wisdom and liked her marriage. When Indira's father was in jail he used to write beautiful, long letters to her about his patriotic feelings and the current political situation. This led her to understand the intricacies of the nation, better than the most. In 1942, she joined the 'Quit India' Movement along with her husband and was arrested and jailed. After India gained freedom, Pandit Nehru was elected Prime Minister. After his death in 1964, Lal Bahadur Shastri took over. And then in 1966, Indira Gandhi was elected leader of the Congress. Indira Gandhi will be remembered for her commendable efforts in the development and progress of science, space exploration, irrigation, as well as policies like the nationalisation of banks and the 20-point programme. But on the other hand, the enormity of the problems she faced was the cause of much heartache. There were problems in Assam, Punjab as well as East Bengal. And in 1971, Pakistan attacked India and forced another smaller partition - On June 26th, 1975, Mrs. Gandhi declared an emergency, due to the turbulent political situation in the country at that time. Janta Party leaders like J.P. Narayan were arrested and jailed. But Mrs. Gandhi lost out to them in the next election in 1977 and was re-elected to power in 1980. Later, in Punjab there was a demand for a separate state of Khalistan, and most of the hard liner Sikhs were up in arms. But their demands were not met and this was the cause of her ultimate assassination. She was assassinated by her own security personnel while going to her office on the 31st of October1984. This day has gone down in History as National Unity Day, as a tribute to the memory of a Great lady, leader and statesman. The day she left for heavenly abode, billions sobbed their eyes and virtually wept to which I bear a witness. Let us pay our respectful homage to Mrs. Indira Gandhi who has become a legendary figure in national & international scenario while she was in her office!

Jesus Christ's ten commandement as flashed by me on the f.b on October 31,2010

Bishwa Nath Singh :
When Jesus Christ was asked before He was crucified by His ardent followers as what to be done to inherit eternal life? "His reply was to follow ten Commandments that He had given as sermon on the mount and that will keep one in His remembrances all the times. The Christians have great faith & believe in those Ten Comm...andments. What are they? Let us have a glimpse on those Ten Commandments and follow them in our life very truthfully to make our life blissful.

Bishwa Nath Singh

The Ten Commandments that were given as Sermon on the Mount by Jesus Christ are as follows:

Sl.No.- The Commandment ----- -The Call - -Action -

1 - I am the LORD

your God,

... you shall have no other

gods before me. -Faith (Trust in God) - All faith in God, freedom from

lesser gods:

wealth, sex, power, popularity.

2- You shall not take

the Name of the

LORD

your God in vain. -Respect

Holiness - Respect for God

and the things

of God: prayer, worship, religion.

3- Keep holy the

Sabbath day. -Renewal - Not just the

Sabbath rest, but setting aside time for prayer, good recreation, quiet reflection.

4- Honor your father

and your mother. -Family - Loving care and respect for all

family members,

elders and younger siblings, too.

Respect for elders in general.

5- You shall not kill. -Respect For

Life - Courtesy to all, speaking

respectfully to all, seeking the best

for all. Respecting others' freedom

while still

defending all

human life.

6 - You shall not

commit adultery. -Chastity

Faithfulness

(Fidelity) - Faithful actions beyond just

abstaining from sexual contact outside of marriage. Respect for sex and marriage.

7- You shall not

Steal. -Justice

(Honesty) - Concern for the

rights of others, especially when

they get in the

Way of what

we desire. A

commitment to fairness and a willingness to

suffer loss rather

Than depriving another.

8- You shall not

bear false

witness. -Truth - A dedication to

what is real

and true, even

if that reality

is against our

interests.

9 - You shall not

covet your

neighbor's

Wife. -Purity- A desire to want

only what God wills.

A single-hearted devotion to God's

way.

10- You shall not

covet your

neighbor's

goods. -Generosity - A cooperation in God's own

generosity that

sees all goods as belonging to God

and freely given

for the good of all

When Jesus Christ was asked by His followers as what is the greatest commandment? His reply was very spontaneous with two: those is love God and love your neighbor. One can safely vouch that he/she notices the first three commandments as directed toward the first of these to love of God and the last seven as relating to the second: love of neighbor. One must bear in mind that the Christian is one who follows Christ and one can not follow the Christ unless he/she adopts and practices those ten commandments in his/her life. Let us bow our head and pay our respectful obeisance to the lotus feet of Jesus Christ who live & died for welfare of all human –beings of the universe that is why He is adored widely by over billions of His followers!

A homage to Mira Bai by me as flashed on the f.b. on October 30,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Mira Bai was an ardent disciple of Lord Keshav and as much as she considered herself to be in constant companion with Him as if she is legally wedded spouse of Him for whole of her life in service of the Almighty God Lord Keshav who is our savior and strength though not legally and logically married with each other. ...She was so much grossly engaged in Sri Krishna's Bhakti that she could not think of any thing else other than her immense love for Lord Keshav and her dutifulness towards Him .One has to learn lesson from her life! Unless one surrenders fully at the lotus feet of Lord Keshav,he/she can't have the bliss of Lord Keshav though He is full of kindness & righteousness. Let us have glimpse on Mira Bai in right-up appended below!:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Share.:You, Nikhil Singh, Priti Prasad and 2 others like this..

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Mira Bai was a princess in the real sense. She lost her mother in her childhood. She was born in Rajasthan to a Rajput noble family, and was married in about 1516 to the heir-apparent of the ruler of Mewar at the age of about thirteen. Mir...a became queen of Rajasthan who was known more for to her devotion than her political position. Her husband died before he could attain the throne, and he left no heir. She was born around 1500 and was married at the age of 13. In 1527, the Rajputs opposed a Muslim invasion from Afghanistan. Mirabai's father was killed in battle; her father-in-law was wounded in the same battle and died the next year. Mewar got a new child-ruler, who with his mother, made life at the court difficult for Mirabai. She was an ardent devotee of Sri Krishna. She is worthy of being ranked with the mystic; poets. The mystics give no importance to their personal lives. They see only God in everything and forget themselves. . But whatever happened, the same words lived in her heart and on her lips: 'Giridhar is the Lord and Mira in His servant.'. She is worthy of being ranked with the mystic; poets. The mystics give no importance to their personal lives. They see only God in everything and forget themselves. Mira had mentioned in some of her songs that she was from Medatha and belonged to the family of Doodaji. She has also described in her songs how she suffered at the hands of the Rana. From an early age she showed more interest in religious devotions than to her worldly responsibilities. It is said that she neglected her marital responsibilities. When queried about it, she said that it was impossible for her to be married to the king when she was already married to Lord Krishna.A major change in her life occurred at the time of the death of her husband. It was customary in those days for a wife to commit Sati. Sati is the self immolation upon the husband's funeral pyre that was prevalent that time. She refused to comply, whereupon her in-laws began harassing her. She then left the palace and began wandering throughout Rajasthan, preaching and gaining followers. Mira is known for the many Bhajans that she left behind. Tradition says that Mira Bai left the court in her 30s and became a wandering mendicant, and that she was rejected by traditional gurus because she was a woman. Her poems show her a devotee of Vishnu in his incarnation as Krishna (whom she calls Giridhara or Girdhar --- literally, "lifter of mountains").Modern scholars accept over two hundred devotional Poems (Bhajans) as hers, but more than one thousand three hundred have been attributed. She may have written in Gujarati, but her poems were almost immediately translated into Hindi and other languages, and sung at first over the north, later in the south. She has remained immensely popular throughout India, and many English translations of her poems have been made. These Bhajans are in praise of lord Krishna and held in great esteem for their high literary value. She is believed to have died around 1550. Let us join to pay our respectful homage to Mira Bai and offer our obeisance’s to her lotus feet! Such ardent disciple of the Almighty God is rarely born on this worldly earth who sacrificed her entire life in service of Him.

One's love & devotion towards the Almighty God should be like Mira Bai if he/she is keen to have godly bliss in his/her life.

Let us pay our humble obeisances to the lotus feet of Mira Bai and rejoice her devotional song that liked by me very much as it amply proves as how dearly she loved Lord Krishna! ... “Sree Giridhar aage nachungi

nach nach piva rasik rizhavu,

premi jan ko jac...hungi!

prem, preeti ke bandh ghungharu,

surath ki kachani kachungi II

Lok laj kul ki marjada,

ya me ek na rakhungi!

Piya ke palanga ja powdungi II

Mira Hari rang rachungi “

The meaning there by:"I shall dance before Giridhar Gopal, I shall dance till he is supremely delighted. I honor even those who love him. I shall tie round my ankles the tinkling bells of love and compassion, and wear the dress of His remembrance, and dance. I do not care for honor or the good name of the family which people consider important. I go and lie in the bed of my lover, Hari, and enjoy the bliss of His love."Sri Krishna alone is my lover. I have gone mad with grief." "I will have no peace of mind unless Sri Krishna comes to me." "Mira is the bond slave to Sri Krishna."

A Mother's Secret

.by Shama Daniel Ghai on Friday, October 29, 2010
She was a beautiful young woman, just into her twenties. Happy, outgoing and extremely friendly, Kelly had no trouble making friends. She was little more than a year from completing college and her dream job would be awaiting when she finished. But now, for the first time in her life, things were in total disarray. Her boyfriend of several years had just broken off the relationship as he chose to take a job offer half way across the country. What he didn't know was that he would not only be leaving Kelly behind, but he would be leaving a daughter behind too.Weeks before her boyfriend moved away, Kelly suspected she was pregnant, but didn't want to further disrupt things by saying anything. She knew that while she had loved her boyfriend, they would both be able to move on to independently forge happy and successful lives. After having confirmed her suspicions about being pregnant she took some time to contemplate. She had met with several doctors and finally decided it would be best to quietly end the pregnancy. A few weeks later, after having researched her options, she went in for an abortion and came out assured that she had made the right choice.Kelly eventually got married and did in fact build a happy family. No one ever knew her secret, but it was best that way. At times she did think about the past and the daughter she almost had, but for the most part, life was good to Kelly. This afternoon, things changed.Kelly was on her way to pick up her two teenagers from school when her car was side-swiped by a semi-trailer. No seatbelt or airbag was a match for the blunt force that likely killed her instantly. Kelly's story doesn't end here. You see, 7 years ago Kelly had told friends and family that she had experienced something different during another mundane Sunday church service. She said for the first time she accepted what the Christian religion calls the "Gospel of Truth". Her acceptance of Jesus as her Savior and following repentance assured her that she would find herself in heaven when death came to her.Today, death found Kelly and she indeed stands before God in heaven. It is her judgment day - a day in which we all must face God and answer to Him for our life on earth. For the first time, Kelly will look up and see the face of God the Father, with Jesus Christ sitting at his right hand side. At that moment, she will notice the face of an innocent young child who is sitting on Christ's knee. Kelly's secret was never truly hidden, and now her own daughter asks - "Why did you kill me mommy? Why didn't you choose to love and accept me the way God loves and accepts you?"I don't know how Kelly responded to that piercing question. I can only imagine the surprise that baby girls' father will have when he dies and meets the daughter he never knew he had.

It is indeed a very thoughtful presentation worth appreciating. One should not be unfair to his/her own child otherwise the Holy father who is in heaven will not forgive him/her for this sin .The children whether boy or girl are all lovable to the Almighty God who takes utmost care to them in all walks of their life. The God will not forgive to the sinner who is cruel to his/her spouse and children that have to be borne in mind of all. Thanks Shama Daniel Ghai for sharing such beautiful thought in form of a story with me!

A homage tothe tenth Guru of Sikhism Guru Govind Singh by me as flashed on the f.b. on October 29,2010.

Bishwanath Singh :

Is it not a fact that the Almighty God had descended when our country was in a cross-road of cultural & religious mix?It was the period when the Mughal Empire was vanishing and the British Empire was establishing itself. Western culture and Christianity were slowly entering into the mainstream of Indian life. Religious... and cultural intolerance were raising their ugly heads in the Post Sepoy-Mutiny Scenario of India. It could not have been possible for any leader or statesman to bring about harmony among the divergent religious, cultural groups in such a situation. It was only a God in human form that could have dared to accomplish the task of bringing unity between the different religious and social groups. His Holiness Sathya Shri Sai Baba came on this worldly earth for rescue of the alarming situation who had large number of Hindu, Parsee and Muslim devotees. Christians and Sikhs also used to visit him every now and then to seek his blessings and good-wishes. Let us pay our most respectful & humble obeisance’s to His lotus feet and revive our memories by having a glance on His life- history in brief that is appended below!

Bishwanath Singh :

It was at the beginning of eighteenth century a young bearded man with sparkling eyes took shelter in a mosque, in Shirdi Village of Maharshtra State, In India . Nobody knew from where this stranger had come who hardly spoke a word and stay...ed there. .Though,it is being said that he was born September 28, 1838 and left his body on his own will on 15th Oct. 1918. The divine role of Shri Sai Baba of Shirdi in the present embodiment covered a period of about sixty four years between 1854, when he made his first appearance in Shirdi, and 1918 when he left his body. However, his sixty years of stay at Shirdi on his second appearance between 1858 and 1918 manifested the depth and expansiveness of his unique role when India was in a cross - road of cultural and religious mix..On his arrival at Shirdi in 1854 ,the villagers were at fix in the beginning and later on, started offering food to the man, but he never asked anything from them. Sometimes he shared his food with the animals. Soon the young fakir, as he was started to be addressed, started expressing his view points with few elderly villagers. His simple language of expression and his special power of solving the problems of poor needy and destitute soon made this less known fakir, known as Shri Sai Baba. As the days passed, devotees started streaming into Shirdi in ever growing numbers. The village was fast becoming a centre of pilgrimage. As gifts and presentations flowed in, the pomp and ceremony of Sai worship were evolving. Everyday Sai Baba would be a pauper having distributed all among the needy and the poor. But Sai Baba's life of a Fakir remained calm, undisturbed, unaltered and therein is the saint's Spiritual glory. People also realized that this "Baba" was no ordinary person but a person with extraordinary godly powers. Such powers are not known or present in normal human beings. Baba preached his principle of love and faith in humanity to all his disciples. He always felt anguished over the fact that all those who came to him were more for their own personal problems and not for attaining the ultimate goal of reaching God which he felt could be attained only by true servicing of humanity. Sai baba strongly believed in uniformity of religion and he never distinguished anyone on the basis of caste, creed or religion. He always made it a point not to return empty handed those who had come to him in their hour of need and grief. He performed miracles to alleviate the suffering of poor people. On one occasion he restored the eyes of a blind elderly and in another occasion he lighted a lantern with water when there was no oil to burn it. As all good things have to end ultimately "Baba" also left his body on his own will on 15th Oct. 1918, leaving his millions of believers and followers crying. His body was laid in the Samadhi Mandir called "Booty", which he had asked his disciple to built before his death.Sai Baba was Unique, in that, he lived his message through the Essence of his Being. His life and relationship with the common man was his teaching. The lmmense Energy that was manifest in the body of Sai was moving and is still moving in a mysterious way, creating and recreating itself everywhere, beyond the comprehension of time and space.Yet, he lived with the common folk as a penniless fakir, wearing a torn kafni, sleeping over a mat while resting his head on a brick, begging for his food. He radiated a mysterious smile and a deep inward look, of a peace that passeth all understanding. He was always and ever aware of what transpired within the hearts and minds of everyone, whether they be, His devotees or not. This Omnipresent and Omniscient Sri Sai Baba who left his mortal body in 1918, is the living spiritual force that is drawing people from all walks of life, from all parts of the world, into his fold, today.Sri Sai Baba lived, acted and behaved as only a "God descended on Earth" can. He came to serve mankind, to free them from the clutches of fear. His most concise message for one and all alike was "Why fear when I am here". To take refuge in Sai, is to enter into a journey to reach the Divine Oasis of Love and drink deep from the Fountain of Life, the source of all Spiritual Energy.Wherever the devotee is, Baba makes him recognize within himself his highest aspirations and goal and at one stroke, his conduct and the attitude to fellow beings is touched with the awareness of love, understanding, patience and faith. This is the promise that Sri Sai Baba holds out to all who come to Him. Sri Sai Baba was beyond the limitations of Time and Space and thus caste, creed, position dogmas and doctrines were fundamentally unimportant to him. Nobody really knew his parentage, where he came from or which religion he practiced. He claimed no possessions nor accepted any disciples or gave any specific teaching. This anonymity lent a strange facet to his interaction with the people who came to him for guidance. To the Hindus he was an orthodox Brahmin, with a sacred fire, enjoining the worship of many gods and the devout study of various Hindu scriptures. He lived in a mosque but always referred to it as "Dwarkamay!" ( the name associated with Lord Krishna's birth place is Dwaraka). To the muslims, he was a fakir living in a mosque observing the disciplines of Islam, uttering "Allah Malik" (God is the master) guiding Muslim seekers along the lines c)f their own religion. To the Parsis he was the sacred rire worshipper. His life was a living manifestation of the Sermon of the Christ and of the Eight-fold path of the Buddha. Sai Baba's attraction and appeal lie in this fact that he was a perfect model of the harmony of all religions, for which this world - with all its sectarian and religious antagonism, had been waiting. Sai Baba lived to awaken and lead mankind to the varieties of spiritual life. He set in motion a wave of spirituality, which is now spreading all over the globe. All his life's activities constituted the upliftment of mankind. By first conferring temporal benefits, he drew unto himself countless souls caught up in ignorance (darkness) and opened their eyes to the true meaning of life. The miracles which manifested through Sai Baba were just such as were needed to create faith in the people and to make his devotees ethically and spiritually better evolved. Baba did not purposefully perform miracles to show his powers. The very strength of his perfect realization, in its interaction with nature, caused "the miracle" to take place. Thus he drew people from their deluded pursuits after earthly objects of a transitory nature and induced and inspired them to strive for self-realization. He continued this glorious work until the last moment of his human embodiment in Shirdi. Surprisingly, there are a phenomenally large number of Instances in which Sai Baba has been literally physically appearing before his devotees, even decades after his passing out of the physical body.Sai Baba is constantly and simultaneously proving that he is alive in spirit and responds to our sincere prayers. He Is the One Spirit of all existence. which is God in all the forms of God, in all the saints, in all the men and in all the creatures. All those who sincerely take to a life of inner development, Sai Baba lifts him to a higher level. Every one derives benefit according to the ripeness o f his soul and in accordance with his inner yearning .Baba assured his devotees that he is everywhere.. Sai Baba does not belong to any single tradition but to all mankind on the path of goodness, love and understanding.. Let us pay our respectful homage to Him and offer our humble obeisance's to His lotus feet and seek His bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!

A glimpse on the life of the tenth Guru of Sikhism as flashed on the f.b. on October 28,2010.

Bishwanath Singh :
May we recapitulate our memory as who was that great Guru who had ordained all the followers of Sikhism to wear five KS! They are as follows :.(1). Kesh - unshorn hair. This represents the natural appearance of sainthood. This is the first token of Sikh faith. (2.) Kanga- A comb to clean the hair. (3.) Kachha - An underwear to indicate virtuous character. (4). Kara - A Iron bracelet on the wrist, a symbol of dedication to the Divine Bridegroom. & (5). Kirpan - A sword symbolizing dignity, power and unconquerable spirit and exhorted them to follow these guidelines noted below (A)Not to remove hair from the body. (B). Not to use Tobacco or other intoxicants (alcohol). .(C) Not to eat or touch Kuttha (Halal or Kosher) meat of an animal as described in Hukamnama by Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji to the Sikhs of Kabul (D). Not to commit adultery- 'Par nari ki sej, bhul supne hun na jayo' (never enjoy, even in dream, the bed of a woman other than your own wife) .A supplementary ordinance was issued that any one who did not observe any of the four directives, must be re- baptized, pay a fine, and promise not to offend any more; or he must be excommunicated from the Khalsa. (E) They must rise at dawn, bathe, meditate on Gurmantar-'Waheguru', Moolmantar- the preamble of Japji, and recite five banis- Japji, Jap Sahib and Swayas in the morning; Rehras in the evening; and Kirtan Sohela at bed time at night. and (F) They must not worship idols, cemeteries, or cremation grounds, and must believe only in one Immortal God.! The Guru further spelled out that they should practice arms, and never show their backs to the foe in the battle field. They should always be ready to help the poor and protect those who sought their protection. They were to consider their previous castes erased, and deem themselves all brothers of one family. Sikhs were to intermarry among themselves. He was none else than the tenth Guru of Sikhism Guru Gobind Singh Ji became Guru on November 24, 1675 at the age of nine, following in the footsteps of his father Guru Teg Bahadur ji. Before Guru ji left his mortal body for his heavenly abode, he nominated Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji (SGGS) as the next perpetual Guru of the Sikhs. Guru. Let us pay our humble obeisances to his lotus feet and seek his bliss for well-being of all of us living in this universe! It would be very appropriate, if we have glimpse on his life history in brief that is appended below:

Bishwanath Singh :

Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the last of the Tenth Gurus of Sikhism. He was born as Gobind Rai Sodhi on the 22nd of December 1666 at Patna, in Bihar in India. He was son of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji & Gujri JI. His father, Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Nin...th Guru ofv Sikhism.Guru Teg Bahadur was then travelling across Bengal and Assam. Returning to Patna in 1670, he directed his family to return to the Punjab. On the site of the house at Patna in which Gobind Rai was born and where he spent his early childhood now stands a sacred shrine, Takht Sri Harimandar Sahib, one of the five most honored seats of religious authority (takht or throne) for the Sikhs. Gobind Rai was escorted to Anandpur (then known as Chakk Nanaki) at the foothills of the Sivaliks where he reached in March 1672 and there he had his early education included reading and writing of Punjabi, Braj, Sanskrit and Persian languages. He was married with Mata Jeeto Ji in July, 1677.Later on ,he had married with Mata Sundri & Mata Shaib Divan .In all four sons namely Zorawar Singh, Ajit Singh, Jujha Singh, Fateh Singh were born to him who later sacrificed their life for the sake of Sikhism..He was barely nine years of age when a sudden turn came in his life as well as in the life of entire Sikh community, he was destined to lead. Early in 1675, a group Kashmiri Brahmans, driven to desperation by the religious fanaticism of the Mughal General Iftikar Khan, visited Anandpur to seek Guru Tegh Bahadur's intercession. As the Guru sat reflecting what to do, young Gobind Rai, arriving there in company with his playmates, asked his father as why he looked so preoccupied. The father replied him that the grave are the burdens the earth bears and that will be redeemed only if a truly worthy person comes forward to lay down his head. Distress will then be expunged and happiness ushered in.None could be worthier than yourself to make such a sacrifice, remarked Gobind Rai in his innocent manner. Guru Tegh Bahadur soon afterwards proceeded to the imperial capital, Delhi, and courted death on the11th of November 1675. He was nominated as the tenth Guru by the ninth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Tegh Bahadur who was also his father. After Guru Tegh Bahadur's death, Guru Gobind Singh became Guru on November 11, 1675.He remained on Guru Gadhi for thirty three years and passed away on the October 7, 1708 at Jyoti Jot Place at Nanded. Before Guru Gobind Ji left his body, he nominated Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji - the Holy book of Sikhs as the next perpetual Guru of the Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh is highly regarded by the Sikhs for his monumental role in the development of the Sikh faith. He is said to have molded the Sikh Religion into its present form today with the formation of the Khalsa. Guru Gobind also established the Sikh baptism ceremony, the partaking of “Amrit”. Guru Gobind Singh Ji infused the spirit of both sainthood and solider in the minds and hearts of his followers to fight oppression in order to restore justice, peace, righteousness (Dharma) and to uplift the down-trodden people in this world. Guru Gobind Singh lost his father, mother, and all four of his sons to a religious war, being waged by the Mughal Emperor; Aurangzeb was keen to see Islamization of Hindus and Sikhs. In his life Guru Gobind Singh fought four battles against Mughal oppression. Nawab Wazir Khan of Sirhind had felt concerned at the Emperor's conciliatory treatment of Guru Gobind Singh. Their marching together to the South made him jealous, and he charged two of his trusted men with murdering the Guru before his increasing friendship with the Emperor resulted in any harm to him. These two pathans Jamshed Khan and Wasil Beg are the names given in the Guru Kian Sakhian— pursued the Guru secretly and overtook him at Nanded, where, according to Sri Gur Sobha by Senapati, a contemporary writer, one of them stabbed the Guru in the left side below the heart as he lay one evening in his chamber resting after the Rahras prayer. Before he could deal another blow, Guru Gobind Singh struck him down with his sword, while his fleeing companion fell under the swords of Sikhs who had rushed in on hearing the noise. As the news reached Bahadur Shah's camp, he sent expert surgeons, including an Englishman, Cole by name, to attend on the Guru. The wound was stitched and appeared to have healed quickly but, as the Guru one day applied strength to pull a stiff bow, it broke out again and bled profusely. This weakened the Guru beyond cure and he passed away on October 7, 1708 Before the end came, Guru Gobind Singh had asked for the Sacred Volume to be brought forth. He then opened the Granth Sahib, placed five paise & a coconut and solemnly bowed to it as his successor, GURU GRANTH SAHIB. Saying 'Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh', he walked around the Guru Granth Sahib and proclaimed, "O beloved Khalsa, let him who desireth to behold me, behold the Guru Granth. Obey the Granth Sahib. It is the visible body of the Gurus. And let him who desires to meet me, search me in the hymns To quote Bhatt Vahi Talauda Parganah Jind: "Guru Gobind Singh, the Tenth Master, son of Guru Teg Bahadur, grandson of Guru Hargobind, great-grandson of Guru Arjan, of the family of Guru Ram Das Surajbansi, Gosal clan, Sodhi Khatri, resident of Anandpur, parganah Kahlur, now at Nanded, in the Godavari country in the Deccan, asked Bhai Daya Singh, on Wednesday, 6 October 1708, to fetch Sri Granth Sahib. In obedience to his orders, Daya Singh brought Sri Granth Sahib. Soon after attack on him, the Guru handed the authority of leadership to Bhai Banda Singh and asked him to travel to the Punjab and propagate the Sikh faith. Apart from being a great warrior, Guru Gobind Singh was a learned man. He compiled a number of books and poetry collections in his life. Given here is a short summary of his literary and social works: Guru Gobind Singh thus passed on the succession with due ceremony to the Holy Book, the Guru Granth Sahib, ending the line of personal GurusThe Guru's spirit," he said, "will henceforth be in the Granth and the Khalsa. Where the Granth is with any five Sikhs representing the Khalsa, there will the Guru be." The Word enshrined in the Holy Book was always revered by the Gurus as well as by their disciples as of Divine origin of the Guru Granth Sahib as his successor. It was only through the Word that the Guruship could be made everlasting. The Word as contained in the Guru Granth Sahib was henceforth, and for all time to come to be the Guru for the Sikhs.Let us pay our most respectful & humble obeisances to His lotus feet and seek His bliss to give us passion and wisdom to follow His teachings very truthfully in our life to make our life blissful!

A brief note on Personality as flashed on the f.b. on October 28,2010

Bishwanath Singh :
In journalism & fiction, usually we use the terms charming personality, charismatic personality, handsome personality,, electrifying personality and so on .These phrases do not use the scientific principles of vocabulary. The term personality has been derived from Latin persona, a mask worn by actors in classical dramas. Behaviorist psychologists feel that if a person has some kind of impact, makes a certain impression on others, it must be because of his actions. Let us have a glimpse on a write-up on Personality that may be of some interest to others! It was just in response to the wishes of few friends of mine that I present a paper on the Personality that is often talked & discussed at public places.

DIVINE MESSAGE - 28.10.10

.by Vijay Anant on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 1:18pm.Blessed are the pure at heart; for they shall see God. God is seated in your heart. But the veil of impurity hides Him from your vision. All that you have to do is to remove this veil, cast off this impurity from your heart. And you will behold Him here and now in all His Glory and in all His Splendour. Blessed are they that thus have a vision of God. For they shall radiate His Blessings to the whole world.

DIVINE MESSAGE - 27.10.10

.by Vijay Anant on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 .

One who finds fault with others usually doesn’t have a high regard for himself either. Such persons do not know the harmonious center of their being. No wonder such people see only disharmony wherever they go. There is no happiness in wealth or in anything else unless there is peace-producing harmony in the mind. Those who cannot find peace in their own hearts will not find it elsewhere either.
 Serve all creatures of God. The service of servants of God is His real worship. If you can not speak well of someone rather do not say anything. दीन-दुखियों की सेवा करो। भगवान के सेवकों की सेवा ही भगवान की सच्ची भक्ति है। यदि आप किसी के लिए अच्छा नही कह सकते तो कुछ न कहना बेहतर है।

Comments of Bishwanath Singh:

It's a very meaningful & thoughtful message from a great saga of yester years. It is true that if one can't speak kind words to others,it would be better for him/her to maintain silence. One is required to search peace in his/her own heart than serching else where in hearts of others.

Unscathed by theft-By- Kamlesh Bahukhandi

.by Kamalesh Bahukhandi on Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Thanks Mr Thief!!!The thief chose our home for removing whatever valuables we had, and the series of unexpected things began. He entered the home, skillfully stole the things he wanted, without touching other items as if to tell us that those things we kept at home were unimportant.Police persons entered home later to inspect the things and asked us not to worry as they were with us. In the same breath, they increased our worries by informing us that five more thefts had happened in the same area. They were patrolling the area during the period, precisely when the thief struck our house, was another valuable piece of information they gave us. However, the news of other burglaries gave us moral support that ki chalo bhai we alone were not the sufferers. From the heart, we also shared their sorrow.
Then, came the carpenter, asking a lot of questions, showing sympathy, while earning his money for repairing the broken latch. Quotation is in pipeline for next security arrangements, which the same man is going to do for us. The following day, unexpectedly, I got a call from a sales person oh sorry now they are called Business Executives —who had read the news about burglary at our home— and asked us to install security alarm bell as if he was threatening us to be aware for the next time. We could not blame, it’s his business. Even though we decide to install those things, we only know how much we have already lost and how much we are going to lose, and how? Oh dear thief (your non-stop thoughts made you dear), please help if you are having plenty of (stolen) valuables, give us something.
Any way, nobody can stop the things which are already destined to happen. Once something has happened, everybody can stop discussing the things. But it is against the habit. It is already destined that nobody will let you forget the things. Except our well wishers, we had to answer the questions (almost all were the same) posed by others. One different question was “Did you keep your mom’s jewelry protected ,I hadn’t seen her wearing for many years...." poor lady" died with the dream of gifting her jewelry to her "Bahu" .She use to tell us, she has kept her jewelry for her "Bahu" ,she was to give your wife her necklace in your marriage?” Answer was “Yes”. The other person... “But why didn’t you get married till she was alive? Why don’t you give your J"anampatri" to Pandit ji he can find a girl for you.. A very strange question was " Ladki" to hai…" Meri Mushi ki Nanad ki ladki ki Ladki" , but they are looking for a Government servant ,any ways.. what you do .. I said 'I am a writer', quick was the respond ...Beta!! I didn’t ask your hobby, I am asking what you do to earn money?.
Oh my God! I was already in a tense situation and I had to give all those answers. Later, it made me laugh and somehow helped to release the tension. Thanks to this quizzing. Whenever I think on how to prevent this, one thought come to my mind at the same time that I will paste a notice that “Dear thief, please do not steal here. You have already stolen whatever we had. Now, please leave us”, and I start laughing. At last, unexpectedly, I started thinking on how much I had, how much I had lost and how much I should have, which I never thought and included that in my future plans. Almost two months later, burglary at my home is still a fresh topic.
Whenever known people come to meet my father or during my morning walk, they show sympathy saying that it was a very sad incident. When I ask what you are talking about, they remind me about the burglary which took place two months back at our home. Except the thief, we got introduced to a lot of people, including policemen who never turned up later, the carpenter who loosened my money-purse to fix the channel gate, my neighbors who kept noticing the strangers but never suspected them, laborers working in our farms and the families from neighboring villages (if there was no burglary). And finally, I would not have tried my hand on computer to punch this article. Thanks, Mr Thief, for making me write this article.

 Comments of Bishwanath Singh :

Well, I am glad that Kamlesh Ji has tried his best to project a true picture as what happens after theft incidence committed in one’s house .It's irony of fate that at one hand when one is a great sufferer as he had lost everything is being... subjected to many shyly and annoying questions raised from time to time by both Investigating Agency and visitors and that continues for months and months together. It adds further miseries to the sufferer. Any one calling him/her whether relation, friends and neighbors go on adding further miseries by their unwanted suggestion as how best ,he/she could strengthen security of his/her house in future least caring as from where the money will come to them Every now and then ,Police Personnel from local Police Station keep on visiting and continue giving assurance to recover entire lost properties soon and expect when gong back some thing to grease their palm The chances of recovery of lost properties remains remote because of callous attitude of local Police Personnel otherwise had they remained alert, such incidence of theft could not have occurred when Police Patrolling Party was already on its job.

How many of us are aware that Indian history has witnessed so far to only one female Prime Minister who was the third Prime Minister of India and the daughter of the first Prime Minister of India and was assassinated while going on the way ...to her office as Prime Minister of India? She was none else than Indira Priyadarshani Gandhi wh...ose Parents were Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru & Kamla Nehru,Her charm, intelligence and charisma made her a powerful statesperson, much loved and admired by over billions of People at large living far & wide .She married Feroz Gandhi in March 1942 inspite of resentment. Two illustrious sons were born to them on the 20 th of August 1944 & the 14 th of December 1946The young Sanjay Gandhi a rising star of Indian Politics had died in air crash on the23 rd June 1980 while she was alive. The elder one Rajiv Gandhi who had succeeded after her death as Prime Minister of India was also assassinated while he was in electioneering tour on the 21st May 1991 at Sriperumbudur while,he was President of All India Congress Party.Let us pay our most respectful homage to her & also to both of her illustrious sons who are no more on this worldly earthIndira Priyadarshani Gandhi was born on 19th November 1917, in Allahabad, she was greatly loved by her parents and her grandfather Motilal Nehru, who was a famous lawyer, and a public figure in his own right. Her father had joined the freedom struggle, so little Indira, or Priyadarshani as she was lovingly called, was exposed to politics from the age of three or four years. Her house Anand Bhawan at Allahabad was the centre of political activity, as all the important leaders stayed there on visiting Allahabad. Mahatma Gandhi was a frequent visitor to her father's residence and she was greatly affected by his thinking. A visit to the Sabarmati Ashram left an indelible mark on her psyche and she was impressed by the simple, hard life and patriotic feelings that she witnessed there. She had passed her Matric from Pune University and was then sent on to Shantiniketan, formed by Rabindranath Tagore. Here she was made to lead a strict highly disciplined life). Subsequently, she went to England and sat for the University of Oxford entrance examination, but she failed and spent a few months at Badminton School in Bristol, before clearing the exam in 1937 and joining Somerville College, Oxford. During this period, she was frequently meeting Feroze Gandhi, whom she knew from Allahabad, and who was studying at the London School of Economics whom she had decided to marry. Returning to India in 1941, she married Feroze Gandhi in March 1942 according to Hindu rituals. much against the wishes of the conservative Hindu community, as Feroz Gandhi was a Parsi..Her father was strongly opposed to her marriage with Feroz Gandhi who was very elder to her and even approached Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to dissuade the young couple, but to no avail. However, over the years, father-in-law and son-in-law resolved their differences, especially with Feroze adopting Gandhi Ji's ideology. In 1942, she joined the 'Quit India' Movement along with her husband and was arrested and jailed. When Indira's father was in jail he used to write beautiful, long letters to her about his patriotic feelings and the current political situation. This led her to understand the intricacies of the nation, better than the most. she served her father unofficially as a personal assistant during his tenure as the first Prime Minister of India. After her father's death in 1964 she was appointed as a member of the Rajya Sabha and became a member of Lal Bahadur Shastri's cabinet as Minister of Information and Broadcasting. The then Congress Party President K. Kamaraj was instrumental in making Indira Gandhi the Prime Minister after the sudden demise of Shastri. Gandhi soon showed an ability to win elections and outmaneuver opponents. She introduced more left-wing economic policies and promoted agricultural productivity. She led the nation as Prime Minister during the decisive victory in the 1971 war with Pakistan and creation of an independent Bangladesh. A period of instability led her to impose a state of emergency on June 26, 1975 , the Congress Party and Indira Gandhi herself lost the next general election for the first time in 1977.due to unrest and current political situation prevailing that time.. This led her to understand the intricacies of the nation, better than the most. Janta Party leaders like J.P. Narayan were arrested and jailed during state of emergency. But Mrs. Gandhi lost out to them in the next election in 1977 due to the alleged authoritarian excesses during the period of emergency and was re-elected to power in 1980. Later, in Punjab there was a demand for a separate state of Khalistan, and by & large hard core Sikh were up in arms. But their demands were not met and this was the cause of her ultimate assassination. On Wednesday, October 31, 1984, when Indira Gandhi was proceeding to her office, she was gunned down by her own bodyguards. This day has gone down in History as national Unity Day, as a tribute to the memory of a Great lady, leader and statesperson. Indira Gandhi will be remembered for her commendable efforts in the development and progress of science, space exploration, irrigation, as well as policies like the nationalization of banks and the 20-point programme.Let us join to pay our most respectful homage to her who will be remembered for long because of her towering personalty as one of the most successful statesman of the world of her time!

The significance of Diwali as flashed by me on the f.b on October 27,2010.

Bishwanath Singh:

This year, Diwali will be celebrated on the 5th of November 2010.In India, national holiday is declared on that day to celebrate this very important festival all through out the country with great enthusiasm & festivity. Deepavali is also known as Diwali .It is perhaps the most well-known of Hindu festivals where pe...ople from all age groups participate. Diwali is celebrated to commemorate Lord Ram return along with his spouse Goddess Sita & younger brother Lord Lakshman from fourteen years of exile to Ayodhya ,the capital of Kaushal Pradesh after the defeat of the demon king of Lanka Ravana, who had abducted his souse Sita in garb of a hermit and Lord Ram’s subsequent coronation as king of Kaushal Pradesh. The word Diwali means the rows of lighted lamps. Diwali is known as the festival of lightsand alsoit signifies victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.Let us celebrate it with great festivity!

Bishwanath Singh :
One can see as how best Lord Ganesh & Goddess Lakshmi are worshipped in the evening with great devotion on the eve of Diwali .As ,it could be seen that the earthen Diya is lighted and our humble obeisance's are paid at the lotus feet of th...e deities of Lord Ganesh & Goddess Lakshmi to seek their bliss for attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace, valor and fame to all of us in the evening on the eve of Diwali.Let us have a glimpse on the significance of Diwali that may be of some interest to all of us!

The word Diwali means the rows of lighted lamps. Diwali is known as the festival of lights because houses, shops and public places are decorated with small earthenware oil lamps called Diyas They give expression to their happiness by lighting earthen Diyas (lamps), decorating the houses, bursting firecrackers and inviting near and dear ones to their households for partaking in a sumptuous feast. The lighting of lamps is a way of paying obeisance to god for attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace, valor and fame. The legends say that it id s celebrated to commemorate the memory of the return of Lord Ram and his spouse Goddess Sita & his younger brother Lord Lakshman to the capital of his kingdom Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. The festival is the time for spring-cleaning the home, exchanging gifts (often sweets and dried fruits) and preparing festive meals, decorating buildings with fancy lights. huge firework displays often celebrate Diwali & wearing new clothes It is one time in the whole year that children volunteer to leave their beds long before the day begins. They emerge, scrubbed clean to get into their festive attire, and light up little oil lamps, candles and scented sticks(Agarbathis) in the evening after performing ‘Pooja & Archana” to the deities of Lrd Ganesh & Goddess Lakshmi with great devotion and sincerity and after that they keep on setting alight crackers and sparklers. On Diwali night, little clay lamps are lit in Hindus homes, but now a days colored electric lamps are also used. What is the significance of lighting a lamp? There is a logical answer to this question. It is through the light that the beauty of this world is revealed or experienced. Most civilizations of the world recognize the importance of light as a gift of God. It has always been a symbol of whatever is positive in our world of experience. To Hindus, darkness represents ignorance, and light is a metaphor for knowledge. Therefore, lighting a lamp symbolizes the destruction, through knowledge, of all negative forces- wickedness, violence, lust, anger, envy, greed, bigotry, fear, injustice, oppression and suffering, etc. Competition is stiff, and even the little girl in silk frocks and their finery are watching out for the best sparklers and flowerpots, the rockets and Vishnuchakras, which light-up the night sky like a thousand stars. Grown-ups are the soul of generosity. Festive presents a lovely look and colorful night. The festival celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance, although the actual legends that go with the festival are different in different parts of India: In northern India and elsewhere, Diwali celebrates Rama's return from fourteen years of exile to Ayodhya after the defeat of Ravana and his subsequent coronation as king; In Gujarat, the festival honours Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth; In Nepal Diwali commemorates the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon king Narakaasura; In Bengal, it is associated with the goddess Kali. People start the new business year at Diwali, and some Hindus will say prayers to the goddess for a successful year.he lamps are lit to help Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, find her way into people's homes. In India Hindus will leave the windows and doors of their houses open so that Goddess Lakshmi can come in. Rangoli are drawn on the floors - Rangoli are patterns and the most popular subject is the lotus flower.Let us celebrate Diwali with great festivity with malice to none and surrender our self ego at the lotus feet of Lord Ganesh & Goddess Lakshmi besides that of Goddess Kali to have their everlasting bliss in our life!

DIVINE MESSAGE - 26.10.10by Vijay Anant on Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy. God is all-mercy. The life-giving warmth of the sun, the life-sustaining purity of fresh air, the sparkling water which quenches your thirst and makes life possible, the good earth that yields nourishing food, besides providing you with a place to dwell – these constantly remind you that God is all-mercy.
### Serve all creatures of God. The service of servants of God is His real worship. If you can not speak well of someone rather do not say anything. दीन-दुखियों की सेवा करो। भगवान के सेवकों की सेवा ही भगवान की सच्ची भक्ति है। यदि आप किसी के लिए अच्छा नही कह सकते तो कुछ न कहना बेहतर है।
