Goddess Sidhidatri -ninth form of Goddess Durga is being worshipped today as flashed on the f.b on October 16,2010.

Bishwanath Singh:
Today being the 16th of October 2010,the ninth day of Durga Puja,we worship the last among the nine forms of Shakti is Goddess Siddhidatri who is worshipped on the ninth or final day of Navratri. ‘Siddhi’ is a Sanskrit word which means ‘perfection’. Goddess Siddhidatri has four arms. She holds a chakra in her right low...er hand and a mace in the upper. In the left lower hand there is a conch and in her upper left hand a lotus flower. She is seated on a lotus flower with the lion as her mount. The legend goes that the Supreme God Shiva got all these ‘siddhis’ by worshipping Maha Shakti. With her gratitude the half body of Shiva became that of the Goddess Shakti and therefore he also came to be called as ‘Ardhanarishvar’. The Goddess Siddhidatri is capable of giving all sorts of occult powers and is also the possessor of twenty six different wishes to grant her worshipers. If a ‘sadhaka’ worships in the prescribed manner with his full faith then he acquires bliss of Goddess Siddhidatri.Maa Siddhiratri's famous pilgrim centre, is located in Nanda Parvat in the Himalayas.

She is a form of PowerThe evolution ...of Saraswati, Laxmi and Mahakali-three main forms of Power( In Hindi means Shakti) took place from Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Mahesh respectively. Each of these three deities gave rise to three more forms and hence in all, these nine forms together are known as Nav Durga whom we worshipped one by one during this period of nine days and on the tenth day,we celebrate Dussehra or Vijoyadashmi to commemorate her love and benovelence towards Her disciples and also killing of Demon King of Lanka by Lord Ram.
