How far doctrine of Mahatma Gandhi is relevant today as envisged & flashed on the f.b. on January 01,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

No sooner, the bell had rung at midnight & the celebration of New Year commenced, the thought came to my mind as to analyze as how far doctrine of Mahatma Gandhi is relevant today in the present space age. Let us have a glimpse on it in brief by squeezing out some time from New Year Celebration that is very popular every where in the world!

Bishwa Nath Singh  :
Mahatma Gandhi was a true and unique replica of combined figure of unique integrity, consistency and humanity all combined in his thoughts & actions ever since, he had grown up and had seen miseries of people facing from British Rule. The p...oint of departure of his life philosophy and the basis of his theory and activity in practice are freedom and welfare of any human being and prosperity of peoples and nations of the whole mankind. Non-violence is the elementary and indispensable condition for the materialization of these noble goals. These principals and values represented a permanent source of inspiration in his guidance in his imaginative undertakings both in the struggle for freedom and independent development of India and the promotion of her role in the international community. As a matter of fact, he was a firm believer of the creativeness and openness of the people of India and his own active engagement for a peaceful and friendly cooperation among nations on equal footing, without any interference or imposition were inexhaustible sources of his personal wisdom and high credibility both as the father of modern India, as well as one of the major moral, spiritual and political international authorities of our times. It is largely due to him, India has its political independence today and the work of building that greater freedom which he set in train in continuing by non-violent workers all around India. But, he himself had altered his successors that they would face a more daunting journey on the road to the betterment of the people of India, than he himself had done. His fifty years struggle for national independence reached a culmination in August 1947, but he could see that national independence of India was really only the first step towards ultimate goal-equality of opportunity for all through non-violent action. That is the reason why he represents today not only the collective conscience of India, but also the collective conscience of all humanity. He has remained a relevant thinker today because of his theory and practice of non-violence, but also because of the way he defended all his life political tolerance and religious pluralism. Nothing about his defense is doctrinaire or a prior. Everything he claims about the importance of individual autonomy and political freedom, for human life, for modern living, is tested by experience. Everybody knows that his ideas evolved through experience from a highly simplistic view to more mature, sophisticated and relevant propositions. ,he articulated a fundamental change-taking place in Indian but also modern understanding which still gives his philosophy contemporary relevance. One thing is certain about his thought: it is not only modern, but also mature. His heroic break with religious fanatic was proved far from opening up the possibility for a critical structure, which would provide universal norms for human action. As per his wishes, it becomes our moral responsibility o not to fail to seek knowledge and enlightenment, never give up the virtues of common sense, civility, justice and non-violence. Thus, a sense of balance and proportion of what fits when and where is crucial to the theory he enjoins us to practice. Nevertheless, for him, pure rationalism was neither scientific, nor human. As he once said: “rationalists are admirable being, but rationalism can be a hideous monster when it claims omnipotence for itself”. His attachment to religion was limited. Religion for him was identified with ethics rather than theology. Therefore, most of Gandhi’s major concepts and methods of struggle are not absolutist concepts. It would be totally unfair to judge and analyze Gandhi through some absolutist concepts and ideas. In this connection the most significant concept that is relevant to revalidating Gandhi is that which went by the name of Swaraj (Independence). I think that “autonomy” is not merely an economic concept, but it is also a political concept. He was in fact a stern defender of the role of law, and advocate of fundamental human rights, a critic of all forms of political action based on violence and intolerance and a fervent of limited Government. His political thought cannot, in this sense, be identified either with the liberal tradition, or with the anarchist tradition or with the claims advanced by a number of communitarian philosophers today. His doctrine of non-violence was the effort to breakdown the stereotypes and reductive categories that are limiting to human communication. Every modern thinker has an audience and a constituency. The issue is whether that audience is there to be satisfied and justified or whether it is to be challenged and hence guided into a greater democratic participation in the society. His attempt in experimenting the truth was squarely to hold to universal values. Even if Gandhi was very loyal to India and to the Indian people, his responsibility as a modern intellectual figure, made him speak the truth beyond the national and the cultural frontiers by picking the right moral and political alternative and then intelligently representing it where it could do the most good and cause the right change. In this respect, the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi in the creation and cultivation of a public culture of citizenship, that guarantees to everyone the right to opinion and action, as an alternative to system of representation based on bureaucratic parties and state structures, is one of the most relevant issues discussed in the western political philosophy today. Gandhi was very conscious about the fact that the cultivation of an “enlarged pluralism” requires the creation of institutions and practices, where the voice and perspective of everyone can be articulated, tested and transformed. Gandhi’s vision of modernity provided a number of fruitful insights that may help us to confront the dilemmas of the modern age. He had shown the world as how simple & truthful, one can be in his/her personal & public life.Let us join to pay our respectful homage and floral tribute to this great man who was also called half naked Fakir(holky saint) known for his simolicity, honesty ,passion and wisdom!

A gift on the eve of New Year to all -Madhurasttakam as flashed on the f.b. on Jan.01,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh

Do you recollect that I had presented you a divine gift i.e.” Madhurashatakam)” ( eight versus in Praise of Lord Krishna) a devotional song that is very soothing to Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha Rani to remember & sing on the eve of New Year’s Day? I would like to reproduce it with a request to have glimpse of it and join to sing in chorus in the praise of our Savior Lord Krishna who is omnipresent. The song was composed by a great sage of yester years Swami Vallabhacharya who became immortal just because of this loveliest devotional song. Why should we lack behind? Let us chant and sing in chorus in praise of our creator & savior and seek His bliss on the eve of New Year!

Significance of Valmiki's Ramayan as flashed on the f.b. on Dec.31,2010.

Remove PostBishwa Nath Singh

Ramayana is the twelve thousand year-old text by Sage Valmiki detailing the life of Lord Ram in Sanskrit.. In the epic, Sri Rama's wife, Sita, is stolen away by Ravana, and taken to his palace in Lanka. On a hectic search for over ten months & war. Lord Ram had killed Demon King of Lanka Ravana who had stolen and abducted Sita and res...cued her But when questions arise in Ayodhya in Kingdom of Lord Ram regarding Sita's chastity during her time in Ravana's palace, Lord Ram had exiled his wife to the forest—even though she was pregnant without even giving her an opportunity to speak in defense of herself. The question that often haunts mind of many as how one could consider someone who would treat his virtuous wife in such a way as the embodiment of dharma.

Bishwa Nath Singh ‎.:
Once, we interpret the inner meaning of Ramayana, Lord Ram, Sita and all other characters could be very well seen within us though we look into the epic of Ramayana a holy epic and Lord Ram as an incarnation of dharma. Truly speaking,... Lord Ram was not just wedded to Sita but to all of his subjects and that, whatever he did, the well being of his entire kingdom was his topmost consideration to be an ideal king..When one is the king of a nation, that person cannot act, merely thinking of the well being of his own kith & kin. When a war breaks out between two countries, a general has to be there at the warfront, leading his army. This is a general's dharma towards his nation. One has read that when fraud takes place at a bank or in any office the higher authorities suspend the manager or head of the office and have the enquiry later. Although the authorities may know deep within that the manager or head of the office is innocent, still they will let the law take its own course. Later on in the enquiry the manager or head of the office where fraud or robbery had taken place may be found innocent. In that case, the manager or head of office will be reinstated soon after the enquiry reoirt was available.. Such an action will increase alertness and awareness among the other staff too, and they will be extra careful in all their transactions The actions of Lord Ram a were in a similar vein: as when there was some murmur among the people about the chastity of Sita.Lord, Ram sent her to the forest. But later, when the people became convinced of Sita's chastity, Rama was ready to accept her back. This shows how a king must be. For a king, each and every subject in his kingdom is important. He listens to each and every person. He doesn't just stick to the words of his counsel Lord Ram did the same. He knew that Sita was going to stay in the holy Ashram of great Sage Valmiki. In the ashram, she was always hearing the chanting of Vedic hymns, inhaling the pure smoke from the fire rituals and was in the elevating presence of the Rishi. So the children born to her—the twins Lava and Kusha—were spiritually vibrant and courageous During those days, there was no social & religious barrier, a King could marry any number of times, yet Lord Ram did not marry any other one. Even when he had performed the Ashwamedha sacrifice, which requires the presence of one of the king's wives, he did not remarry but had a golden idol of Sita made and kept it in the place specified for the wife. This clearly shows the love Lord Ram had for his spouse Sita who was known for her passion & wisdom. Sita was stolen & abducted by the demon King of Lanka Ravana after falling under the enchantment of Demon Maricha, who had disguised himself as a golden dear. It was very rightly prophesized by my loveliest Amma that Sita represents the mind, Lord Ram represents God whereas the brother of Lord Ram, Lakshmana represents discipline, the deer represents desire, Maricha represents maya and Demon King Ravana represents the senses. In Ramayan, one will recall that Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lakshmana were staying in a camp in the forest when Maricha approached them in the form of a golden deer. Sita wanted Lord Ram to capture the deer for her and he runs to fulfill her wishes. But the deer tactfully took him far away from the camp. When Lord Ram realized the deer is really a demon, he killed that demon Marich in garb of deer but while Maricha was dying, the demon shouted. Lakshmana, to help him very loudly When Lakshmana and Sita hear Lord Ram’s voice to help him . Sita pressed Lakshmana to go help his brother. Lakshmana reluctantly left, but before he did, he drew a line on the ground and cautioned Sita not to cross it at any cost. When the both Lord Ram and Lakshmana away from Sita, Ravana came under garb of a Sage and , tricked Sita to cross Lakshmana's line. Ravna abducted Sita and took her away to Lanka. As soon as Sita realized her mistake, She began repenting. When her sorrows for Lord Ram reached its peak, and became unbearable, Lord reached Lanka with his monkey army. defeated Ravana and killed him and brought Sita back. This story illustrates the fact that when desires enter our mind, we become distantly away from God. Maya becomes very powerfulWhen the desires become strong, we fall into a trap. Then it is discipline alone that saves us. When Sita, the mind crossed over the line of discipline she fell into the hands of Ramavana. Then she realized her folly and started praying to the Lord wholeheartedly. Then Lord Ram came and rescued her. Truly speaking Lord Ram was an Marayada Purushottam and we must learn from His life and imbibe to be blissful.Hope, it clears the misgivings of many and let us pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita,Lord Lakshman , Lord Hanuman and all others who figure in Ramayana with reverence and seek their bliss on the eve of New Year for our welfare ., happiness and peace around us!

Significance of Bhagwat Gita as flashed on the f.b. on December 30,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

One must be fully aware that Bhagwat Gita is a most sacred text for Hindus, a discourse of Lord Krishna himself .The Bhagavad Gita is considered among the most important texts in the history of literature and philosophy. It comprises seven hundred verses, and is a part of the Mahabharata. The content of the Bhagwat Gita is the conve...rsation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra war. Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and prince and elaborates on different Yogic and Vedantic philosophies.Bhagwat Gita often being described as a concise guide to Hindu theology and also as a practical, self- contained guide to life. During the discourse, Lord Krishna reveals His identity as the Supreme Being Himself.

Bishwa Nath Singh :
The direct audience to Lord Krishna’s discourse of the Bhagawata Gita included Arjuna, Sanjay and Lord Hanuman (perched atop Arjuna’s chariot) and Barbarika, son of Ghatotghaj. during eighteen days of Kurukhsetra war. The Bhagavad Gita rep...resent a summary of the Upanishadic teachings, it is also called "the Upanishad of the Upanishads. Lord Krishna states that the knowledge of Yoga contained in the Gita was first instructed to mankind at the very beginning of their existence Although the original date of composition of the Bhagavad Gita is not clear, its teachings are considered timeless. The original language of the Bhagavad-Geeta was classical Sanskrit. Many extraordinary people such as Albert Einsten, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, Herman Hesse, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Aldous Huxley, Rudolph Steiner ,C.Rajagopalachari &,Dr.S. Radhakrishnan had studied Srimad Bhagavad-Geeta and were inspired by its timeless wisdom, the ultimate truth, creation, birth and death, the results of actions, the eternal soul, liberation and the purpose as well as the goal of human existence. Lord Krishna had taught the supreme truths of Yoga, Bhakti and Vedanta to Arjuna and Uddhava. He had mastery over the sixty-four arts. That is the reason that Lord Krishna is regarded as an Avatara with sixteen Kalas or powers.Every word of Lord Krishna's teachings and every act of His is full of sublime and grand object-lessons of momentous import to humanity in a variety of ways. Thus, it is called the holiest of holy book as guide in persoal life.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance's to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna and seek His bliss to give us wisdom to strive hard to ppropogate theme of 'Global Peace & Universal Brotherhood" to accomplish its Hrculean task very successfully with malice to none!

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Lord Krishna belonged to the royal family of Mathura, and was the eighth son born to the princess Devaki, and her husband Vasudeva. Mathura was the capital of the Yadavas, to which Krishna's parents Vasudeva and Devaki belonged to. The kin...g Kamsa, Devaki's cousin , had ascendedTraditional belief based on scriptural details and astrological calculations gives the date of Krishna's birth, known as Janmashtami, as either 18th or 21st July 3228 BCE. In Hindu astrology it appeared on the eighth waning moon night of bhadon (August) in Rohini Nakchatra (asterism) in 3228 BC. Janmashtami is celebrated all over India and across many other countries to mark the birth of Lord Krishna, the eight avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. the throne by imprisoning his father, King Ugrasena. Afraid of a prophecy that predicted his death at the hands of Devaki's eighth son, he had locked the couple into a prison cell. After killing the first six children, and Devaki's apparent miscarriage of the seventh, being transfered to Rohini as Balarama, Krishna took birth. Since Vasudeva believed Krishna's life was in danger, Krishna was secretly taken out of the prison cell to be raised by his foster parents, Yasoda and Nanda in Gokula. Two of his other siblings also survived, Balarama and Subhadra. When Krishna appeared, a tiny touch of His Divine power shattered the defense system of the jail: locks broke, watchmen went into deep sleep, gates opened and all the restrictions were eliminated. The flooding River Yamuna gave way to Vasudeo so that he could safely transport baby Krishna to his relative Nand Baba’s house which was in Gokul and on the other side of river Yamuna. Thus, Krishna first descended in Mathura and on the same night He came to Gokul. The next day, at the house of Nand Baba and Yashoda all the Brajwasis came together to join the most joyous celebration of Krishna’s birthday. To commemorate the birth anniversary of the Lord, Rasa Lila or the dramatic performances of the life of Krishna are performed by devotees. Colorful Rasleelas (plays) are a major attraction which depict various phases and acts of Lord Krishna's life. The whole of Braj is the leela place of Krishna but more memorable places are Barsana, Vrindaban and Govardhan. Barsana is the place where the sovereign of Gopis’ hearts, and the soul of Krishna, Radha, always lived there. Vrindaban is famous because maharas leela happened over there, and Govardhan is the place where Krishna did most of His playful leelas with His Gwalbal while grazing the cows. The leelas of Krishna are categorized as: (1) Braj leela, (2) nikunj leela, and (3) Dwarika leela. They revealed such loving leelas that fascinated even Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and Goddess Laxmi Rasa Lila took place on a beautiful night, when the ‘Gopis’ (milkmaids) of Vrindavan stealthily left their houses to go to the jungle on hearing the sweet sound of Lord Krishna’s flute. Lord Krishna then danced with gopis throughout the night. Rasa Lila is based on the legendary love story of Radha Krishna. The loving interplay between God and the human soul is interpreted through Lord Krishna and his love play with the Gopis. The blissful love of Radha for Krishna can be seen as the soul’s wish to be one with the Almighty. Though Radha never married Krishna, her love for him was so complete and pure that even today we worship Krishna alongwith Radha. This love story has been called ‘Rasa’ by the great Rishi Vyasa. The secrets of Rasalila can only be understood by devotees like Narada, Radha, the Gopis and Sri Gouranga. According to Puranic sources,. Lord Krishna's disappearance marks the end of Dvapara Yuga and the start of Kali Yuga, which is dated to February 17/18, 3102 BCE.Let us pay our humble obeisance's to the lotus feet of Lord Krisna ,who is our savior and omnipresent!May I wish all of you very happy & glorious New Year!

A write-up on as why relations are fading away in modern space age as flashed on the f.b. on Dec.30,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

The question often haunts my mind as why relations are fading away in modern space age and people by & large now becoming self centered. I have been striving hard to find its genesis and reason behind them. Let us ponder over it very coolly!

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Only some one had captured my heart and tied it somewhere just like mesmerized child, my love for him/her made me believe that I walked with clouds all around me. It may not be the ideal heartwarming type of relationship but it was good en...ough to bring out the best in me, more so the worst. There were times in my life when I really wished love to instantly fade in my heart and my brain to automatically forget his/her existence in my life. But life is always like that... the more you want it, the more you can't get it, the more you don't want it, the more that it will come to you like a very annoying guest through the years, I struggled to that phase of my life, loving him/her crazily, hating him her the most,, giving up & accepting at times thinking that I am a doomed that no matter how bad he/she made me feel I will still love him /her at the end of the day..But how it happened when I never ask for it anymore?...Why do I suddenly feel cold when I have no one to replace him/her in my heart At times, I can feel that something inside of me is slowly fading. Is my love really fading away in time when it is not expected? where is that depth f love that used to make me happy? I still care I know but he /she is no longer a priority...How to ascertain that Is it .that . I am falling out of love! Is it because I am giving him /herthe impression that I am unavailable specially now that he/sheneeds me? Why was I surprised to receive a phone call when I used to expect it or longed for it? Certainly, I don't want sweet revenge. I just did not expect that love will still fade when I had it for almost a lifetime and when it started to leave me; I did not expect that I am going to feel so relieved and felt free and happy. I am not sad, and no longer in pain, but how can I see myself the way I used see myself before, I feel that I look very handsome when I am in pain when I get maximum opportunity to rush up to my savior to pray to Him I personally feel that I am more confident now, that with or without a loved one in my life, I can go on pondering over that I am handsome with full of intellect with new resolution in my life to make my life glorious least caring as why relations are fading away in the modern era. Can’t I be quiet and leave everything in hands of my savior who is supreme God and learn from His wisdom that I can share sometime with my friends so that they can take lesson from me as how to be likeable & successful in life in spite of many hurdles & odds? It is high time to ponder over times and again as how best we could revive our good relationship we had every where without harping our past rather learn from those mistakes and imbibe to make our future bright with good relations with every one at and around.Let us learn from the life of Lord Krishna & His most beloved companion Radha Rani who loved each other immensely that is why Raha Krishnaa are adored & woshipped all over the world!

How Lord Ram is relevant on the present era as focussed & flashed by me on the f.b. on December 29,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh

::

How the life of Lord Ram is relevant today in the present era could be a matter of great study! Now days when lies are rampant, betrayal, animosity and dejection are heard from many mouths. Lord Ram's life and his character are very relevant in present scenario. A true understanding of his life and character will provide ardently needed healing touch to the society. A mere mindless recital of the verses of Ramayan written by Maharshi Valmiki & Ramcharitmanas written by Goswami Tulsi Das will not give any fruitful result. The need of time is introspection of our heart, positive thinking and good deeds that can lead us to glory provided it is pursued very truthfully in our life. Let us have a glimpse of it in brief that is appended below!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Ramayan written in Treta Yug by Maharshi Valmiki in verses in Sanskrit and Shri Ram Charit Manas written by Goswami Tulsi Das in Awadhi (local dialect in Hindi)are living monument on the life of Lord Ram and his sterling character that ma...de him to possess the supreme divine life(Maryada Purushottam). They are our holy books that are read & chanted with great devotion & interest not only in India but far & wide.During the month of March-April every year ,Ram-Navami is celebrated throughout India to commemorate the Birth anniversary of Lord Ram.On this day, it has been described that Lord Ram was born. Lord Ram who is also said to be the re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu, descended on the earth to cleanse it from the sludge of sins and make it free from demons. The famous poet and Saint Swami Tulsi Das have described this event in his famous book "Ramcharitmanas" vividly and candidly. On the ninth day of Chaitra month of Hindu calendar when the days are romantic and pleasant in the mid-day Lord Ram manifested Himself before he would be ideal son of his most loving mother Kaushalya. Rani Kaushalaya had prayed and requested Him to be her son. Consequent upon this, He became a toddler and started His life as an ordinary child of a human-being - with all his sufferings and happiness; to be with humans, mingled with them, perceiving their agony and to remove the hardship of the people at large.Since time immemorial, human-being is always in pursuit of long lasting peace and harmony. The societies were formed and various rules were chalked out to regularize the system. In later times these rules were duly codified as law and along with custom of the time and place, became religion. Religion, therefore, can be said as the wide code of conduct touching all aspects of life. It is a strong limiting factor for the society to prevent becoming perverted.Every year while observing this day as a festival; somewhere in people's sub-conscious mind a fact hovers that God is omnipresent, looking after each and every thing and observing. Rewarding the worthies and punishing the cunnings. It is deplorable that with the passage of time this pious thought has become polluted and day-by-day perversion in various forms has crept in. So much so, that the life became full of foul cry, dissatisfaction and waning values. It is here where Lord Ram and his grand moral fiber help a lot to sooth the aching souls. The saga of Lord Ram tells a lot about values, deeds and austerity. It guides through the complex labyrinth of life. It also tells us that how a person with the ability to consolidate hostile forces to use them for larger benefits can do miracle and place him arrayed along with supernatural powers and God, thus gaining a stature insurmountable for times to comThis is a saga of a person born in a royal family and brought up in super luxury of palaces, denounced all his comforts and power to carry out the words of his dying father and led a life of exile in forest for fourteen years. With his cute, devoted wife Sita and a committed younger brother Luxman, he lived in thatched hut, faced all types of harshness of forest. In the vicinity of learned saints and sages, He learned the secrets of life and consolidated the opposite forces against the ill forces of a powerful demon king Ravana. A brahmin by birth, Ravana started a new cult which was not in consonance with the social norms. He became an autocrat, dictating his will and ruled according to his whims. He invaded and conquered many kingdoms and established a very powerful and affluent kingdom. It was impregnable and impossible for anyone to conquer. He became undefeatable and conceited up to the extent that he started taking the things for granted. He became synonymous to the evil forces and pain giver. His arrogance reached to such a height that he dared to kidnap pious and dutiful wife of Ram when she was all alone in her hermitage. He kept her as prisoner in one of his most secured gardens - The Ashok-Vatika and tried to pacify her. When failed, he tortured her to the extent that she started thinking of ending her life. She even pleaded with a sympathizer of her to arrange some fire and lit a pyre for self immolation. However, despite all odds she did not give up and held her courage. This was the time when Hanuman - a trusted lieutenant of Ram reached there and consoled her. Ultimately Ram was able to find the location of Sita, pleaded and requested with Ravana for return of Sita to him who did not pay attention to his calls and requests. Compelled by the deeds of Ravana, Ram attacked his capital city - Lanka, defeated and killed him. In the fight for justice Ram, who arrived there alone, had had help from various local kings and monarch. It is not a mere story of a person who conquered a powerful monarch but also tells us lot as to how virtues and virtuous person can win a battle in spite of all odds if he does not lose the patience and wits. It also tells us as to how good deeds pay rich dividends. Though it was an arduous task to locate Sita and to reach Lanka, Lord Ram, got all help from the locals because of his humble nature and willingness to help needy. This is quite disheartening that the very essence of this saga is being forgotten by the present society. In every era, epics were written to enlighten the people and they have said a lot on how the people can live a harmonious life. It is disquieting that now a day more and more people are taking the path of non-virtue, aggression, mendacity and disrespect to the laws of nature. These are leading towards the dungeon of doom. It is said that Ravan had had ten heads. Let us join to pay our humble obeisance's to the lotus feet of Lord Ram & Goddess Sita and seek their bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!

A write-up on Jesus Christ as flashed on the f.b.on December 28,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Let us fondly remember Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of People, whose birth, life, and death were predicted by prophets and attended with miraculous manifestations of divine power! He was born of the Virgin Mary, of the tribe of Judah, who was betrothed to Joseph, the descendant and heir of the house of David.. It was foreto...ld that Christ should be of the seed of Abraham and the son of David. The place of Jesus' birth was Bethlehem; the time, according to the received chronology, was in the year of Rome 754. Scholars are now almost unanimously agreed that this date is too late, and it is generally placed about four years earlier. The coming of a forerunner to the Saviour, John the Baptist, in the spirit and power of Elias, was foretold by an angel. The angel Gabriel announced to Mary that the power of the Highest should overshadow her, and that she should bear a son who should rule over the house of Jacob forever. On the night of Jesus birth, an angel appeared to some shepherds, and announced the coming of a Savior. On the eighth day He was circumcised according to the law of Moses, and on the 40th day, was presented in the temple, where the aged Simeon pronounced Him to be the light of nations and the glory of Israel.

Bishwa Nath Singh:
Herod had ordered the extirpation of all children of Bethlehem and its vicinity of the age of less than two years, for the purpose of effecting the death of Jesus. But Joseph, being miraculously warned of the danger, fled to Egypt with Mar...y and her child, and on his return, after the death of Herod, went to reside at Nazareth in Galilee, whence Jesus is called a Nazarene. We have no further accounts of the earlier years of Jesus, except the remarkable scene in the temple when He was a youth of twelve years old, and the general observation of Luke, that He remained in Nazareth with His parents and served them.At the age of about thirty,Jesus was baptized by John in the River Jordan, the Spirit of God descending upon Him like a dove, and a voice from heaven proclaiming, "Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." Previously, however, to entering on His office of divine teacher, Jesus retired to a solitary place, where He passed forty days in fasting, meditation, and prayer, previous to the remarkable scene of the temptation described by the evangelists – Matt.. He was afterward transfigured in the presence of three of His disciples, when Moses and Elias appeared to Him from heaven, and His raiment became white and shining, and His face shone as the sun. On this occasion again, a voice came from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son; hear ye him His mission is generally considered to have occupied three years, spent in acts of mercy (chiefly miraculous), in inculcating a purer system of morals, more exalted notions of God, and more elevating views of man and his destiny than had yet been presented to the world. His doctrine is embodied chiefly in the Sermon on the Mount containing the form of prayer He taught to His disciples, commonly called the Lord's Prayer..Jesus chose twelve apostles to be the companions of His ministry, the witnesses of His miracles, and the depositories of His doctrine; and He was betrayed into the power of His enemies by one of these with the mockery of a friendly salutation. Betrayed by one, denied by another, and abandoned by all, He was carried before the Jewish priests, found guilty, and by them delivered over to the Roman magistrates, who alone had the power of life and death. Condemned to death as a disturber of the public peace, He was nailed to the cross on Mount Calvary, and it was in the agonies of this bitter death that Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of His executioners, and with a touching act of eternal love, commended His mother to His favorite disciple. The evangelists relate that from the hour of noon the sun was darkened, and three hours after, Jesus, having cried out, "It is finished!" gave up the ghost. The veil of the temple, they add, was torn asunder, the earth shook, rocks were rent, and the tombs opened. The centurion who was present, directing the execution, exclaimed that Truly this was the Son of God!" The body of Jesus was taken down by Joseph of Arimathea and placed in a tomb, about which the Jewish priests, remembering His prophecy that He should rise on the third day, set a guard, sealing up the door. Notwithstanding these precautions, Jesus' prophecy was fulfilled by His resurrection on the first day of the week (Sunday), and He appeared repeatedly to His disciples to encourage, console, and instruct them.On the fortieth day after His resurrection, while with them on the Mount of Olives, after He had given them instructions to teach and proselytize all nations, promising them the gift of the Holy Spirit, a cloud received Him out of their sight, and Jesus was taken up to heaven. While the disciples stood gazing after Him, two men in white apparel appeared to them, and predicted His coming again in like manner as they had seen Him go. Let us fondly remember Him and pay our humble obeisance to His lotus feet! Merry Christmas to allour brothern & sisters!

"Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra " with its significance as flashed by me on th f.b. on Dec.27,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

When one begins chanting Mritunjaya Mahamantra at the last hours of his/her life, the death that is evitable is deferred as it was revealed by Late Jagadacharya Swami Vivekanand Sarswati of Naimish Pith of Naimisharanya during his discourse on many occasions in the yester years. It’s a mahamantra to please Lord Shiva Let us have glimps...e of it and chant together to seek Godly bliss from Lord Shiva! One must not forget that Moksha / Mukti is the state wherein there are no attachments and aversion. Moksha effectively stands for the blissful state where there are no desires. When all the karmic forces surrounding the soul are completely destroyed, the soul ( atma)becomes the supreme soul ( parmatma). Lord Shiva is very easily pleased....he exhibits compassion for his devotees and we are been looked after very well by Lord Shiva who is omnipresent. May Lord Shiva fulfill all our wishes and aspirations, be it material or spiritual – everything is a journey that He is listening will keep on guiding us to move on the right path in the right direction!

Lord Shiva is an supreme deity in Hinduism as recalled & flashed by me on the f.b. on Dec.27,2010.

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Lord Shiva is one the supreme deity in Hinduism. Shiva is one of the Trimurti, along with Lord Brahma the Creator and Lord Vishnu the Preserver. Lord Shiva is usually represented by the Shiva linga. In Hindu scriptures it is called Mahadeva Maheshwar and and Parameśvara, the Supreme Lord. Lord Shiva is revered as the ultimate controller of birth and death in the phenomenal world. Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being that continuously dissolves to recreate in the cyclic process of creation, preservation, dissolution and recreation of the universe.Let us have glimpse on legendary story connected with his emergence!

Bishwa Nath Singh:
Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being that continuously dissolves to recreate in the cyclic process of creation, preservation, dissolution and recreation of the universe. The God of Rain Lord Indira once God of Heaven had r...eceived a garland as a gift from the sage, Durvarasa, but slighted the old man by giving the garland to his elephant who threw it to the ground. Rishi Durvaraas cursed the god in his anger and spoke to him that his kingdom would be overwhelmed by ruin, Almost immediately, Indra's powers began getting eloped and the god fearing that they would lose their immortality and the asuras would invade Kailash, Indira appealed to Vishnu for help. Lord Vishnu advised them to unite with their foes, the evil demons, collect herbs and plants and cast them into the sea of milk and churn the ocean to produce nectar( Amrit ) being the source of all strength and immortality. They were to use the sacred mountain, Mandara for a churning stick, the serpent Vasuki, wound around the mountain as a rope and in the oceans midst, Lord Vishnu himself, present in tortoise form, became a pivot for the churning staff. And the Vishnu said that he will take care of all foes shall share all righteousness but will not partake in its reward, or drink the immortal nectar As such, the gods pulled the serpent's head and the demons his tail and Mandara swivelled rapidly back and forth. And, as the sea of milk frothed and bubbled, it brought forth the sacred cow, fountains of milk and butter and Parijata, the tree of paradise with its fragrant blossoms. The moon rose out of the ocean and settled on Shiva's head. A terrible poison then burst from the waters and threatened to destroy the earth. Shiva, it is said, opened his mouth and received it in his throat. So virulent was the poison that it turned Shiva's neck blue, giving him one of his many names, Neelkanth, the blue-throated. As the waters began to calm, Dhanavati, the physician of the gods appeared, bearing the kumbh -pot of the life-giving powerful nectar. The gods reached for the nectar and the demons too came forward. War was inevitable. Vishnu called forth Divine Sri, Goddess of Beauty. Enthralled, the demons watched mesmerized as the peerless beauty rose out of the waters, seated on a lotus. Vishnu passed the pot of nectar to the gods, thus restoring their immortality. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil, with of course a little guile and cunning to weigh the balance in the favour of the good. The legend is also a part of the complex Hindu’s belief of the creation of the world and, at another level, reveals the Hindu preoccupation with the powers of medicine and the concepts of mortality and immortality. Millions of people from all over India come to bathe in the waters of the sacred Sipra during the Kumbh Mela Let us go to the sacred river Sipra in Ujjain in India to have fragrance of Lord Shiva during Kumbh fair and pay our humble obeisance’s to Lord Shiva to seek His bliss for well-being of all living –being of this universe!

Regarding heroic achievements of Lord Krishna as envisaged & flashed by me on the f.b. on Dec.26,2010

Bishwa Nath Singh

Are we aware that he birth of Lord Krishna is in itself a transcendental phenomenon that generates soothing effect among the minds of Hindus & all alike and overwhelms one and all with its glorious happenings? It was the mother Earth, who was unable to bear the burden of sins committed by evil kings and rulers that time, appealed to Lord Brahma, the Creator for help. Lord Brahma had prayed to the Supreme Lord Vishnu, who assured him that he would soon be born on earth to contain tyrannical forces.Let us have glimpse of this mythological events in brief!

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Amongst those evils, one such evil force was Kamsa, the ruler of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh State of India and his people were utterly scared of him. On the day Kamsa's sister Devaki was married to Vasudeva, a voice from the sky was heard pr...ophesying that Devaki's eighth son would be the destroyer of Kamsa. The frightened Kamsa immediately unsheathed his sword to kill his sister but Vasudeva intervened and implored Kamsa to spare his bride, and promised to hand over every new born child to him. Kamsa relented but imprisoned both Devaki and her husband Vasudeva. When Devaki gave birth to her first child, Kamsa came to the prison cell and slaughtered the newborn. In this way, he killed the first six sons of Devaki. Even before her eighth child was born, Devaki and Vasudeva started lamenting its fate and theirs. Then suddenly Lord Vishnu appeared before them and said he himself was coming to rescue them and the people of Mathura. He asked Vasudeva to carry him to the house of his friend, the cowherd chief Nanda in Gokula right after his birth, where Nanda's wife Yashoda had given birth to a daughter. He was to exchange his boy and bring Yashoda's baby daughter back to the prison. Vishnu assured them, nothing shall bar their path.At midnight on ashtami, the divine baby was born in Kamsa's prison. Remembering the divine instructions, Vasudeva clasped the child to his bosom and started for Gokula, but found that his legs were in chains. He jerked his legs and was unfettered! The massive iron-barred doors unlocked and opened up. While crossing river Yamuna, Vasudeva held his baby high over his head. The rain fell in torrents and the river was in spate. But the water made way for Vasudeva and miraculously a five-mouthed snake followed him from behind and provided shelter for the baby. When Vasudeva reached Gokula, he found the door of Nanda's house open. He exchanged the babies and hurried back to the prison with the baby girl. Early in the morning the people at Gokula rejoiced the birth of Nanda's beautiful male child. Vasudeva came back to Mathura and as he entered the doors of the prison closed by itself. When Kamsa came to know about the birth, he rushed to the prison and tried to kill the baby. But this time it skipped from his hand and while reaching the sky, she was transformed into goddess Yogamaya, who told Kamsa: "O foolish man! What will you get by killing me? Your nemesis is already born somewhere else."In his youth Krishna killed Kamsa along with all his cruel associates, liberated his parents from prison, and reinstated Ugrasen as the King of Mathura. Krishna was dark and extremely handsome. The word Krishna literally means 'black', and black also connotes mysteriousness. The Bhagavad-Gita is the famous discourse that had taken place between Lord Krishna and the warrior Arjuna, just before the onset of the great Maha Bharata War (c. 3138 BC). The Bhagavad-Gita originally appears as an episode in the Sixth Book of the Mahabharata (Bhismaparvan, 23-40). In this of 700 verses, Lord Krishna shows how each Vedic dharma directs a person toward the ultimate, the most confidential of all knowledge. He had discussed the Yogas of work, meditation, and knowledge. Krishna shows how it leads to the most secrets of all secrets, pure loving devotional service to God. Let us join to pay our humble obeisance’s to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna & see Radha is the principle consort of Lord Krishna who appeared originally as a result of the prayers of the Vindyachala Hills who after seeing Parvati ,the daughter of the Himalayan Mountains, desired to have a daughter who is more beautiful and whose consort could defeat Lord Shiva. It is described in Bhagavata Purana how after Durga (the daughter born of Yasoda and switched by Vasudev with Krishna at birth) was offered to King Kamsa in place of Krishna, she cursed Kamsa and then flew away to take residence in Vindyachala Hills -the magnificent temple of Vindyachala Devi remains to this day in Mirzapur in U.P. State of India. Radha Rani is always depicted alongside Krishna and features prominently within the theology of today’s Gaudiya Vaishnava religion, which regards Radha as the original Goddess or Shakti Let us join to pay our humble obeisance’s to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna & Goddess Radha Rani and seek their bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe!

It’s strange as why a person of stature of G.V.Mavalankar,the first Speaker of Lok Sabha was not posthumously awarded the nation's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna , so far and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India ...was not decorated with the award of Bharat Ratna as yet when both of them deserve the most honestly to be conferred with Bharat Ratna only with a difference the first one posthumously and the second one in person. Let us join to urge the Union Govt.of India to think over the issue and get them awarded with the nation highest civilian award Bharat Ratna for their distinguished public career and great service rendered by them to our motherland!

Though the life of the Christianity

The Philosophical aspect of Christianity as described & flashed by me on the f.b on Dec.26,2010

Bishwa Nath Singh:

Though the life of the Christianity has crossed over more than two thousand years on this earth, yet many are unaware of its perception and philosophical aspects. Let us examine it very coolly and have a glimpse on it as what many people alike me construe that is appended below!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

( Photo of Jesus Christ)

Bishwa Nath Singh:
Christianity was derived its name from Jesus Christ based chiefly on Judaism and partly on Buddhism. The doctrines of the Christian religion are all taken from Judaism. Jesus never professed to abolish Judaism and to set up a new religion o...f his own. Buddhism prevailed in Palestine when Christ was born. Christ himself came in contact with it through John the Baptist. There is a striking resemblance between Buddhism and Christianity in their precepts, in their forms and ceremonies, in the architectural style of their temples, and even in the account of the lives of their founders. The teaching of Jesus which is chiefly ethical is embodied in the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord's Prayer and certain parables known as the parables of the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son, and the Sheep and the Goats. Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King. He was the son of a carpenter of Nazareth, a large village in Galilee, the northern Province of Palestine. Jesus was a Palestine Jew of the first century. He lived with Joseph and Mary and a large family of brothers or half-brothers in the house of the carpenter of Nazareth. He was baptized by John the Baptist on the banks of the river Jordan. Now he saw a vision of God's spirit descending like a dove on him. John, the Baptist was the Preceptor of Jesus. Jesus was an incarnation of the Hebrew God Jehovah. Jesus is the Greek transliteration of an Aramic name pronounced Yeshua, according to Hebrew Scholars. It was altered into Jesus in English. He was also called Messiah, the anointed one, or the Savior of the World. In between his 18th and 32nd years of age, Jesus spent his life in India and lived like a Hindu or Buddhist monk. He had burning dispassion (Vairagaya)and spirit of renunciation. In India he assimilated Hindu ideals and principles. Lord Jesus totally surrendered himself at the lotus feet of the Lord. He had intense faith in Him. It was the faith that sustained him throughout his life. The Cross of Jesus will remain forever the supreme example of love and suffering without returning evil for evil. The Cross symbolizes a great principle of life. In the Christian theology, the Cross has a wonderful halo. It is not a common cross of wood. The Cross of Jesus is a classic instance of love resisting evil and overcoming it. He had a large heart and wonderful power of endurance .He had clarified that one who has control over the flesh, crucified the flesh, subdued the life-passions possesses self-control and has mortified the lower nature, can bear the Cross. Jesus was holy. person and God-man,. He was the incarnation of God. Jesus called himself the Son of God. In Jesus, one can see perfect holiness, goodness, kindness, mercy, gentleness and justice He was embodiment of all that is best, moderate and most beautiful. He was the most perfect type and ideal of humanity. He was the embodiment of all his teachings. He was a philosopher, prophet, teacher and reformer. He always practiced what he taught. He was truthful. His thoughts were very pure. There was no hypocrisy or deception in his thoughts. He risked his own life in uttering the truth. The spirit of Jesus is the spirit of Truth. He is called the Sun of Righteousness. He went about doing well. His words still elevate people. who still live as a fountain of inspiration. He had taken the sins of humanity on himself, suffered for their sins and made them free and that speaks the theory of Atonement of Christ. Over two thousand years have passed since Lord Jesus, the Prophet of Palestine taught the way, the truth and the life to mankind The words of Jesus were not collected till some generations after they were uttered. Christianity was essentially a radiant way of life, a way of happy and victorious living in this world. He had astonished people by his insight when discussing religion with the religious leaders of his day. For three years he explained his claim as the Only Son of God and taught people about the nature of his Father: God, and the true path of human life in the shape of 'Sermon on the Mount’, Because of these virues, he was called the Great Exemplar. He explained the real nature of God, man and the world he lived in. He taught people to change their way of looking at things. He told them that if they would change their outlook on life from its materialistic to its spiritualistic aspect, they would realize that the world they were living in was God's Kingdom. His words have been misunderstood, wrongly annotated, mutilated, deformed and transformed and yet they have survived over two thousand years as they were very powerful and came from the heart of Jesus. Here is the gist of Jesus' teachings: God is Spirit. He is omnipresent. He loves His creatures with infinite love. He is the Father of all. God is immanent in the world. He is transcendental also. He sent His son Jesus Christ unto the world to show them the way to attain immortality. The theological doctrine of Jesus is belief in the Fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man. In Godhead there are three Persons, viz., Father, Son and the Holy Ghost or Spirit. This is the Trinity of Christianity. All men are brothers, because they are all members of the family of God. If the teaching of Christ is carried out faithfully there will be no war on this universe.Let us join to pay our humble obeisance's to the lotus feet of Jesus Christ,Our Holy Father in heaven and seek His bliss for well-being of all living-being of this universe! Merry Christmas & New Year to all inhabitants of the globe!!
