A significance of Yashodanandan as flashed on the f.b. on Feb.22,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh

Emotions rule our human heart but if these emotions are devoted to the Almighty God with pure thoughts and love, one’s soul can easily get one with the supreme power without following the harsh paths of ‘Japa’, ’Tapa’, ’Vrat’. There are various types of emotions of love that accompanies ones bhakti: Vatsalya rasa: The bond of love shared between mother Yashoda and Lord Krishna. Though mother Yashoda had not given birth to Lord Krishna yet she nurtured him with full love and care. Lord Krishna, who holds this trinity, It was shere to honor selfless motherhood of Lord Krishna named himself as ‘Yashodanandan’.

When Lord Krishna was a mere young child of eight years old,the Gopis of Vrindavan did a month-long Katyayani Vrata with the sole purpose to get Lord Krishna as their husband The vrata itself was a very complicated one .The bathing in the... Yamuna at daybreak, making an image of theGoddess Parvati with sand on the bank of Yamuna River and worshipping Her with all the formalities and rituals. It was at the endof this month-long worship, the incidence of robbing of their clothes by the Lord Krishna had taken place. The Lord chastised them that they had no businessto bathe naked in the river, supposed to be engaged in this Katyayani vrata. After telling them that his treatment of them was in punishment of their misbehavior, he gave them back their clothes;but also promised them that very soon their desire for sporting with the Lord, for which they did the Katyayani Vrata, would be fulfilled and that is how the idea of Raas Leela was later on translated into action by Lord Krishna and Gopis of Vrata, would be fulfilled and that is how the idea of Raas Leela was later on translated into action by Lord Krishna and Gopis of Vrindavan.
