Bishwa Nath Singh :
Rudrabhiskek is a way to please Lord Shiva and His spouse Goddess Parvati to seek their bliss in our life so it has a very special significance for all of us .Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being and is considered to be th...e destroyer of evil and sorrow. Lord Shiva is 'tri netra' or three eyed, and is 'neela kantha' - blue necked. Shiva - Nataraja is the Divine Cosmic Dancer. Shiva - Ardhanareeswara is both man and woman. He is the source of fertility in all living beings. He has gentle as well as fierce forms. Lord Shiva is the greatest of renounces as well as the ideal lover. He destroys evil and protects good. He bestows prosperity on worshipers although he is austere. He is omnipresent and resides in everyone as pure consciousness. Lord Shiva is the Lord of mercy and compassion. Lord Shiva protects devotees from evil forces such as lust, greed, and anger. Lord Shiva grants boons, bestows grace and awakens wisdom in His devotees. Lord Shiva is the third member of the Hindu Trinity, the other two being Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. Owing to His cosmic activity of dissolution and recreation, the words destroyer and destruction have been erroneously associated with Lord Shiva. For fulfill of our desires, we perform this Rudrabhishek Puja by powering cow’s milk on the deity of Shivalinga and by offering our prayers with devotion and chanting Mahamantras of Lord Shiva. Rudrabhishekam Puja - When Lord Vishnu incarnated as Sri Rama, he established Shiva Linga at Rameswaram before crossing the sea and performed Rudrabhishek to express his devotion to Lord Siva. This Pooja, where Lord Shiva is worshiped in His Rudra form, is hailed by all Vedic scriptures as one of the greatest Poojas to remove all evils, to attain all desires and for all round prosperity. The Maha Rudrabhishekam is particularly performed for the sake of washing away ones sins and afflictions, for bringing peace, propsertiy and happiness, along with family togetherness. Let us join to pay our respectful obeisances to the lotus feet of Lord Shiva and His spouse Goddess Parvati and seek their bliss for well-being of all of us living in this universe!
