A write-up on Lord Krishna being a God as flashed on the f.b. on March 7,2011.

This morning, a question was raised whether Krishna was a God or not. Here is my rejoinder appended below in which one can find reply to his queries very satisfactorily.

Bishwa Nath Singh One will bear me out that Lord Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is the son of Vasudeva and Devaki. Krishna appears on earth once in a day of Lord Brahma or once every 4,320,000,000 years. He is the source of Lord Vishnu, wh...o is the source of all other incarnations of God. As one finds in Srimad Bhagavatam that it has been mentioned very clearly that Since Krishna is the source of all incarnations, therefore all the different incarnations are present in Krishna. When Krishna incarnates, all the features of the other incarnations are already present within Him.His complexion is blackish, like the color of a new rain cloud. He stands in a three-fold bending form, dancing and playing on His flute. On the altar many times He will be with His consort, Radha. In paintings, He will be seen dancing with the cowherd girls playing with the cowherd boys, or as Arjuna's charioteer on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. He killed the evil king Kamsa and many other demons to protect His devotees. He is one who had preached Arjuna in the the Bhagavad-gita.Krishna face is decorated with ornaments, such as earrings resembling sharks. Krishna's ears are beautiful, His cheeks brilliant and Krishna's smiling is attractive to everyone to see.In the episode of Droupadi Vastraharan (when Droupadi is about to be forcefully stripped of her garments in the court of Kauravas) in the Mahabharata, Droupadi turns to various courtiers and elders in the court for help. When she does not get help from anyone, in complete surrender, she finally turns to Lord Krishna. The Lord rushes to her aid immediately. Assuming a form of the provider of clothes, He saves Droupadi’s honor by providing clothing to her. Thus, complete surrender unto The Lord is the only way to get true help in our problems. His features, glory and life events help develop the firm belief, which is the first step towards devotion unto Him .One should not doubt about His being a God himself and His consort Radha Rani of Barsane as Goddess Herself.

Vandana Kumar Seth :
I totally agree with you but in my opinion Krishna was an embodiment of a true spirit which was exemplary in his conduct, values, knowledge ans so forth. He took birth to guide us as how a life should be.Its very appropriate to worship him to inculcate certain attitudes in our own life, rather than to influence the Lord Krishna who himself gave sermons on Karma:)
