Mother's Day falls during this calendar year on Sunday the 8th of May 2011.It’s a very pious day to commemorate and celebrate by paying our humble obeisance to her lotus feet and by paying our rich tribute to her who had raised and groomed us so well that we have risen on our own feet on this day.

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Let me join all of you to pay homble obeisance to the lotus feet of my most loving mother who had passed away on August 6,2010 on the eve of the mother's day!The day has a very speaial meaning for all of us in our life. Nevertheless to men...tion that the mother's Day is celebrated all over the world since 1914. Love of mother is deeply implanted in the heart of every reasonable human being. Love of mother is one of the sweetest characteristics of manhood, and comes to us naturally, as it should, for mothers not only bring us into the world, and suckle and tenderly care for us during infancy but they guide and lead us during our more mature years and influence us to be the best during our life. No sacrifice is too great for them to make good for the welfare of their offspring. It is, therefore, proper for all of us to earmark one day in each year that should be set apart, on which we can very fondly remember our mother who had given us birth on this worldly earth, raised and groomed us well by nursing and teaching us the basic values of life least caring for her own comforts Most countries celebrate the special occasion of Mother's Day on the second Sunday in the month of May. The particular day was declared as the official day for Mother's Day celebrations by US President Woodrow Wilson by signing a Joint Resolution on May 8, 1914. Since then, this very tradition of honoring mothers and paying humble tribute to them on the second Sunday in the month of May carried out and spread to many countries across the globe. Various countries adopted this date to celebrate Mothers Day. Since then people across the world have been celebrating Mothers Day with joy and devotion. Right from Australia to Zimbabwe, more than sixty countries celebrate Mother's Day together with Americans on the second Sunday in May. In the United Kingdom, Mothering Sunday is held on the forth Sunday of the Lenten Season. March 8th marks the celebration of moms in most countries of the Former Soviet Union, while the Arab world honors mothers on the 21st of March every year. As such, we find that several countries around the world celebrate Mother's Day on a different day and even different time of the year. At several places even the method of celebrations varies. But what is remarkably same, are the feelings behind the idea of celebrating Mother's Day. Everywhere in the world, people celebrate Mother's Day to express gratitude and love for their mother and to make them feel special. The selfless mother's love cannot be explained by anyone. Mother's day is dedicated to all the mothers of the world. It is the day to celebrate motherhood, the embodiment of affection and sacrifice. Let us not forget our mother who had helped us put a smile on our face and made us feel special always, now its our turn to make her feel very special on this eve of mother’s day!
