The concept of Karma( action) as revealed in Bhagavad Gita as flashed on the f.b. on May 5,2011.

Bishwa Nath Singh

It is of a common phenomenon that when any one goes to another country ( abroad)then that person is required to obtain Visa from the country where he/she intends to go and is required to return before expiry of that period specified in that Visa. He/she can stay for a certain limited period as specified into that Visa into that c...ountry failing which after the expiry of the visa that person has to return back, otherwise that person is deported back & the stay of that person into that country is considered to be illegal and has to face the legal courses until the period mentioned into his/her Visa is further extended by competent authority living there in to that country.

Bishwa Nath Singh :
Similarly as per our Hindu Mythology, when a person does the good & bad karmas (meaning actions) in life then as a result, that person may go to heaven or hell to enjoy the fruits of those karmas (actions) over there. But the period of stay.in this heaven or hell is determined by the quantity & quality of good & bad karmas (actions) done in one's life. After enjoying the good or bad results of the karmas (actions) in the heaven or hell, one has to return back to this earth to take re- birth again. On this earth a person again does good & bad karmas (actions) in life & again goes to heaven or hell to enjoy the fruits of those karmas (actions) & again returns back to this earth after enjoying those good & bad fruits over there. In this way the constant cycle of birth & death goes on for that person. It is very clear that there is no permanent stay in the heaven .One can live over there just for that duration that is determined by his good karmas (actions) done on this earth. Thus the cycle of birth & death goes on for all those who had not understood & had full faith in the God. As per Srimad Bhagvad Gita beyond this heaven is the abode of God where life is permanent. Once a person gets permission to live in that Godly abode then that person need not come back to this earth to suffer pain & sorrow in life and in that case, one does not require taking rebirth again on this earth. Once God allows a person to stay in His abode then that person is relieved of the cycle of birth & death. That person living in God's abode achieves immortality & permanent bliss. Here are few verses of Srimad Bhagvad Gita that explains what narrated above what Lord Krishna had prophesized Himself." (1)Trai-vidya mam soma-pah puta-papa,yajnair istva svar-gatim prarthayante,te punyam asadya surendra-lokam,asnanti divyan divi deva-bhogan" (One can see it in Srimad Bhagvad Gita in the Chapter Nine , Verse- twenty). It translates into English as such:"Lord Sri Krishna said: Those who study the Vedas and drink the soma juice, seeking the heavenly planets, worship Me indirectly. Purified of sinful reactions, they take birth on the pious, heavenly planet of Indra, where they enjoy godly delights."( 2)"te tam bhuktva svarga-lokam visalam, ksine punye martya-lokam vishanti, evam trayi-dharmam anuprapanna, gatagatam kama-kama labhante" (One can see it in Srimad Bhagvad Gita in the Chapter Nine , Verse- twenty one). It translates into English as such"Lord Sri Krishna said: When they have thus enjoyed vast heavenly sense pleasures and the results of their pious activities are exhausted, they return to this mortal planet (earth) again. Thus those who seek sense enjoyments by adhering to the principles of the three Vedas achieve only repeated birth.(3)bhutani yanti bhutejya, yanti mad-yajino ’pi mam" (One can see it in Srimad Bhagvad Gita in the Chapter Nine, Verse- twenty five) .It translates into English as such:"Lord Sri Krishna said: Those who worship the demigods will take birth among the demigods; those who worship the ancestors go to the ancestors; those who worship ghosts and spirits will take birth among such beings; and those who worship Me (Lord Sri Krishna) will live with Me." (4)"yat karosi yad asnasi, yaj juhosi dadasi yat,yat tapasyasi kaunteya, tat kurusva mad-arpanam" ( Ref: Srimad Bhagvad Gita: Chapter Nine Verse ; twenty seven). It translates into English as such:"Lord Sri Krishna said: Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform—do that, O Arjuna, as an offering to Me (Lord Sri Krishna)." (5)"subhasubha-phalair evam, moksyase karma-bandhanaih,sannyasa-yoga-yuktatma,vimukto mam upaisyasi" ( Ref: Srimad Bhagvad Gita: Chapter Nine Verse : twenty eight). It translates into English as such:"Lord Sri Krishna said: In this way you will be freed from bondage to work (Karmas) and its auspicious and inauspicious results. With your mind fixed on Me (Lord Sri Krishna) in this principle of renunciation, you will be liberated and come to Me."It is therefore absolutely essential for all of us to have full faith in the wisdom of God and follow His dictum truthfully in our life by carrying out godly actions very sincerely to find place in Godly abode in heaven permanently after our passing away Let us join to pay our humble obeisance to the lotus feet of Lord Krishna and pray to Him to bliss us with wisdom and passion to carry out His legacy truthfully in our life to find permanent place in Godly abode in heaven and remain free from taking rebirth! It is our good deeds of remaining good and doing well to others without expecting any thing in return can save us from the cycles of birth & death and also from all miseries in our life.
