The striking Pilots of Air India are urged to call off their strike and the Union Govt. is urged to meet out their geuine grievances as flashed on the f.b. on MAY 5,2011

The verdict of our country Supreme Court to quash Airport Development Fees charged by Private Airports like Mumbai provided some relief to air travelers; however, the strike of Air India's pilots and Union Ministry of Civil Aviation’s apathy towards their genuine demand has added to the tremendous uncertainties the travelers have been... facing otherwise since over a week..How unfortunate is that as many as two hundred twenty one Air India flights on the domestic operations were reported by media to be cancelled leading to great hardship of Air Passengers and enormous financial loss caused to the Union Govt. treasury!

Bishwa Nath Singh :
The strike of Air India’s Pilots was carried out by nearly half of the carrier's one thousand six hundred pilots have entered the eighth day with operations restricted to the trunk routes between metros. The Air India management had announced that about hundred odd flights of sister budget carrier Alliance Air had been deployed to ferry passengers as no reconciliation was in sight between the management and the striking pilots, co-opted from the erstwhile Indian Airlines. It’s high time that Our Prime Minister of India should take lead to listen to their genuine grievances and arrive at an early settlement to save great hardship caused to Air Passengers and enormous financial loss that the country is going through due to their strike. The Concerned Pilots’ Association is also requested to have flexible look and abide by the High Court’s order. Sooner, the strike is called off and flights resumed, better it would be for all peace loving people travelling by air and Govt. too besides the Pilots who too have suffered much owing to this current strike.
