The famous temple of Goddess Vindhyavasini is situated on the hills of Vindhyachal, on the bank of river the holy Ganges eight Kilometers west of Mirzapur situated in Uttar Pradesh State of India The holy Goddess is the same whom King Vasudeva had exchanged with Lord Krishna and one who had forecasted the death of Kansa. The holy pedestal of Goddess Vindhyavasini is one of the most powerful seats of 'Shakti'.(Power)One can have glimpse of Vindhyavasini (Mahalaxmi), Goddess Kali established in a cave (Mahakali) and Ashtabhuja (Mahasarswati) established on the hill. It’s one among the popular sakthipeeths where the Goddess Kali is adorned in the form of Vindhyavasini Devi.. Popularly called as the Kajala devi the presiding deity in the temple is considered as the embodiment of love and benediction.
