Regarding coexistence of Hinduism & Ialam as envisaged & flahed by me on the f.b on Nov.19,2010

Bishwa Nath Singh:
There has been some wrong conception about coexistence of Hinduism & Islamic. History shows that Muslims are very much a part of India and well-integrated into our social fabric. Whether it’s art, craft, architecture, poetry, music, dance or such towering personalities as Kabir, Nanak, Rumi, Amir Khusrau and Raja Akba...r, they are all proof that these two religions can and have co-existed. All religion teaches us to remain united and love each other and live in peace. Islam is dissimilar to Hinduism. The Hinduism evolved as a way of life while Islam was founded by a historical person, the Prophet Mohammad. The influence of Islam first came to be felt in the 7th century with the advent of Arab traders. This was followed by sporadic raids into India by Muslim traders, but the first Muslim kingdom was established in Delhi at the end of the 12th century. The Muslims gradually spread their rule to the south and the east. During the reign of Alauddin Khilji, only the southern part of India remained outside their power. With the coming of the Mughals in 1506, Islam seeped deeper into India. The Policy of King Akbar encircled round religious tolerance brought the Hindus and Muslims close to each other. Akbar lived from the year 1556 to 1605, The following are the pillars of Islam:(A)A good Muslim is to assert that ‘There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is his Prophet.’ (B)The devout should pray, preferably five times a day (C) Acts of charity should be performed. (D) A fast must be observed from dawn to dusk throughout the month of Ramadan. The Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims because the Prophet received his divine revelation in this month and (E)A pilgrimage to Mecca at least once during one’s lifetime is a must. One must not forget that whether we are Hindus, Muslim, Christians,Sikh, Parsies or belonging to any other race or religion are children of one God who is our Holy father in heaven and omnipresent whom we have not seen by our naked eyes but have felt His presence.Let us all remain united and faithful to God who is omnipresent and strive hard to serve our motherland with credit!
