Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru enjoyed an iconic status in India and was widely admired across the world for his idealism and statesmanship during his life time..He remained as the first Prme Minister of our country from the 15th of August1947 till he breathed his last on the 27of May 1964 at the age of seventy four. He born on the 14th of November 1889 at Allahabad and died on the 27th of May 1964 at New Delhi. His birthday falls on the 14 th of November that is celebrated in our country as Children's Day (Bal Divas) in recognition of his lifelong passion and work for the welfare, education and development of children and youth in particular. The children across India remember him as uncle Nehru ( Chacha Nehru).Nehru remains a popular symbol of the Congress party which frequently celebrates his memory. Congress leaders and activists often emulate his style of clothing, especially the Gandhi cap, and his mannerisms. Nehru's ideals and policies continue to shape the Congress party's manifesto and core political philosophy .Let us resolute to celebrate the Bal Divas (Children’s Day) with a great festivity on the 14th of November 2010 to commemorate his memory all over our country !
