The quiet airport of Chandigarh will soon welcome an array of politicians, leaders, movie stars, industrialists and of course cricket fans causing air traffic jam, with fifty chartered flights expected to land here in the night of March 29,...20011 and in the and morning of March 30,2011 ahead of the high-voltage cricket World Cup India-Pakistan semi-final match at Mohali. The number of VVIPs coming to witness the match is a reminder of the importance the sport holds in India, but the lack of infrastructure in the city is a cause for concern. Officials are expecting sixty flights to land in Chandigarh from all parts of the country this morning between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., in addition to the fourteen scheduled flights. All roads will lead to the Punjab Cricket Association ground at Mohali today on the 30th of March 2011 when two giants of cricket from the Asian subcontinent — India and Pakistan — face off in the semifinal of the ICC cricket World Cup 2011.The game is going to probe the character, nerve and skill of the players whereas good game will be a key word. Indian Cricket Team Captain M.S. Dhoni's team start as favourites. Whereas the Shahid Afridi-led Pakistan Cricket Team is neither short of ability nor motivation.Let's look at the factors that could influence this high-pressure match-up!The pitch: By the time the match commences, the surface is likely to be devoid of any grass. The pitch here in India has generally offered decent carry and a measure of seam movement to the pace men.Of late, in the One Day’s Cricket though, the surface has favored the batsmen. The ball comes on to the bat on this clay-based pitch and the outfield is quick. The dryness of the track and the conditions might offer spinners some hope.India had beaten Pakistan in all four matches between the two sides in the World Cup. However, Pakistan has won both its ODIs against India at Mohali. The teams from India is going to comprise of M.S. Dhoni (captain), V. Sehwag, S. Tendulkar, G. Gambhir, V. Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, S. Raina, Harbhajan Singh, R. Ashwin, Zaheer Khan, S. Sreesanth, A. Nehra, Yusuf Pathan, M. Patel and P. Chawla whereas from Pakistan, the team comprises of S. Afridi (captain), K. Akmal, M. Hafeez, A. Shehzad, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, U. Akmal, A. Razzaq, U. Gul, S. Ajmal, W. Riaz, S. Akhtar, A. Shafiq, A. Rehman and J. Khan.Umpires will be Simon Taufel and Ian Gould. Whereas the third umpire will be Billy Bowden and Match Referee will be Ranjan Madugalle.Let us wait and watch as who becomes the winner in this semi-final match and wish both the Indian and Pakistani teams good-luck and all the best in their endeavor!
