Bishwa Nath Singh:

It is my thought for the day that I would like to share with everybody. It's the Photo of Mahatma Gandhi who was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar in Gujrat State of India had spent his life working for the cause of freeing India from ...the clutches of British Imperial Colonial rule by using noble means and principles of truth, non-violence and satyagrah ( peaceful strike). Through their untiring efforts, India got independence on the 15 th of August 1947 and rightfully, he was called the father of the nation and that he continues to be remembered fondly as the father of our nation.. His full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He is known as Mahatma, meaning 'great soul', because of his work on non-violence, satyagrah and selfless service to his people. He was assassinated in the evening the 30th of January 1948 while he was going for his prayer meeting in the premises of Birla House, New Delhi uttering last word “Hay Ram”. Though, he is no more on this worldly earth but his Philosophy of truth and non-violence still remain an eye-opener for all of us either living here in India or in abroad.Let us pay our respectful homage and floral tribute to this great soul who was known as half naked Phakir but for his simplicity!
