Olga Ulyanova who was born in 1922, two years before her uncle's death, was the last direct descendant of the Ulyanov family, Lenin's real surname. She was the daughter of Lenin's younger brother Dmitry, a doctor who shared Lenin's revoluti...onary ideals and served in high posts in the health service after the 1917 revolution. He died in 1943. She had studied chemistry at Moscow State University and went on to become a lecturer there. She also published several books and more than one hundred fifty articles about Lenin and her family. As the last representative of his family, she spoke out against repeated calls to move Lenin's body from the mausoleum on Red Square. She had reiterated that She is categorically against the reburial of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin as there is no basis for this that is what she had told Pravda newspaper in January2011 arguing that his body lies at the same depth as burial according to Russian traditions She was the last known relative of Lenin, who never had any children, according to the government in the Ulyanovsk region, which was named after her family. She was a renowned chemist and writer of repute. Let us join to pay our respectful homage to her and pray to God to grant eternal peace to her departed soul in heavenly abode! In hour of grief, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the people of Russia as whole and others living far and wide to sustain this unbearable loss and void caused by her passing away to the world as whole.
